Yah, I had that happen before. Flying from redridge to sw. I made it all the way to sw. I was stuck fly at griff in sw. then all of a sudden I was at the border to redridge and elwynn forest. Falling and almost died.
The last stress test I was on server 3 and NE. there was a few people that grouped up and left starter zone. Y? probable because the drops suck anyway.
You never experience the flight path problems from 1.2, good lord… A lag spike, then you was flying underwater in the fatigue zone till you died, forcing a rez at the nearest grave yard. Being dropped is nothing compared to the old shenanigans.
One lag spike, I managed to make it to the edge of the world before fatigue killed me.
The only one name calling is U. Calling me a 3 yr old. By the way I made the thread not you. Your the one trolling
whatever…lordy.
I used to hate it when the mods would post “there’s already a thread on this here: x. Locking”. Not for this. Do we need half the threads to be layering complaints/support? There’s more than enough already.
I’m trying to explain it to you but you can not understand.
This is not an expansion. This is suppose to bring back the people that left years ago.
Pirate servers. Do they charge a monthly fee? Do they make money by selling thing? How are you going to convince people to return and pay money? What has changed since then to cause people to leave? By adding stuff that wasn’t there before they left? Or the stuff that caused them to leave in the first place?
If I say the look and feel isn’t there in the last stress test. Why you trying to convince people that I’m a child and know not what i’m talking about. The people they want back will see for themselves.
They will say, why am I paying a subscription to a game that is not WOW classic? It has not the feel of an mmo, I could be playing a ps or xbox, at least there is not a membership fee.
So the same point! what are you going to give people that they probable get for free?
Even a child can understand that. I want classic to be a success, but I see it falling short of an mmo. The layering kills the feel of an mmo. What you’re telling me is your worried about leveling. That is something that people worry about playing a video game.
People are drastically over reacting and melting down over layering. It won’t last long, on less populated servers it could potentially be days to a week lol. If no one joins said server it could just be One Layer for instance. On the streamer server that potbebtially draws a larger crowd yeah it’s gonna be packed I would guess. Same with the guilds that have banded together for a healthy community and server population for sustainability. Blizzard is aware that dead realms literally Kill the game. They are avoiding this by implementing layering which is only temporary. For the average player it will literally be over before you hit 60 bahaha. I can imagine it being noticeable the first week in Ironforge but who is gonna spend time just sitting in a big city at level 22 when they should be questing or pvping. Professions. A vocal minority is voicing their opinion and yeah I bet a lot of people wouldn’t want layering but you know what I dislike the most? Dead servers. If my server is literally dead like what happened in retail, yeah I will flat out quit the game I’ve been waiting for. What’s the other solution realm transfers? That destroyed what community was already established there. Mass exodus from that realm is over populated or under even. Combining realms is an option I’d rather avoid.
Here’s some food for thought. What happens if we have three layers that have 3K each consistently at peaks hours. Phase 2 hits and bam we have a 9k people trying to play on a Friday night with 4k que time worse case scenario. What do we do then?
It was probably in BC, but somehow I always, always lagged out on the tram. Right in the middle. Fun times.
Yeah not really sure why dead servers are preferable to layering.
That is what i’m talking about. Sitting in a big city. No one knows why they left. Like I said earlier people use to sit in a bar in Sw, just to drink beer,. waiting for their guild members to log on. layer will kill that. Temp to level 60. It takes a very long time to get to level60. WFT. Makes it sound like layering has no end!
The game isn’t even launched and you worry about servers being dead… if anything layering is actually going to help make dead servers because it’s not classic and people don’t want it
I would like to see it gone too.
Layering takes away other players, by not looking at other peoples gear and saying. wow that gear sucks or wow that’s a nice piece where did you get that from. You are still just talking about leveling, not the experience of an mmo. You still think its suppose to be a video game, talking about leveling, and not an mmo game that people can learn the ins and outs from…
I too want no part of layering Blizz doing things that killed the original WOW to placate the people still playing retail is a slap in the face to people that want classic to be as close to vanilla as possible. I am subed because of classic. I don’t play retail. I don’t want layering or sharding or multi server battleground. Please Blizz reconsider. We new subs that are now subs because of classic please listen to what we say. Longer Q times mean nothing to us because once we get on it we will be getting the experience we have been waiting for not some watered down version of retail. I have been chompping at the bit since classic was announced. You think you do but you don’t. NO you are wrong we want the whole experience that’s why we are back!!!
Faction tag and increased spawn rates in starting zones ONLY. Bam, easy fix. Job done. Screw layering.
Except the rules change on a PvP server.
People can layer swap to avoid camping. They can gank you several times and disappear to another layer to do the same with more lowbies making it impossible to ever camp them in return to prevent it from happening.
People have friends pop unto fights out of nowhere just because they run to the same spot and grouped group, forcing a layer hop over.
Hell just watching people phase in and out of reality every time a group is joined in itself is distracting as hell, and makes it look like you are playing a ghost world version of WoW.
It’s pretty terrible.
We are under 60 days till launch. We are not getting AV 1.5 nor are we getting a non layered realm. It’s happening. It’s “crunch” time for Blizz no doubt. We are getting what we are getting. Even character creation is going to be soon. This is it. I understand people are upset, hypothetically it lasts 2 weeks and it’s over with and the rest of the life span of our experience remains. Layering gone for let’s assume 75-100 weeks depending on how they release content. They had it for 2 weeks. Let’s say 100 weeks total for easy math. That’s 2% of the game. And depending how you figure phase 1 might be on the slow side due to lack of content in some idea, outside of leveling, professions, attunements, T1, dungeons and the sort
You keep saying this but that is not the aim of the project at all… J Brack said it himself they’re ok if tens of people play. Its to protect their IP, anyone coming back is a side benefit.
As people have said, we know that it isn’t perfect. However, it is the best out of several bad options, and is best for the long-term health of the communities and servers.
Except it likely won’t be 2 weeks.
It’s going to be months and by the time it’s over we’re already into doing nothing but sitting in town spamming AV’s and logging for raid times.
