You could work towards earning the funds how you wanted to at your own pace and know that once you had the funds you could fly.
Now you’re still working towards that goal but the difference being after completing it you dont get the reward.
You’re waiting on Blizzard to release the requirements for part 2 of flight when there should be 1. Players who have completed pathfinder part 1 should be flying right now, part 2 should be a separate achievement for the new zone to earn flying in.
It isn’t reasonable to make people wait so long AFTER they’ve already gotten the first PF achievement. That is NOT my definition of reasonable. Reasonable would have been the 8.1 patch. That’s reasonable.
I don’t know what your definition of reasonable is.
I finally got Azerothian Diplomat back in December. A lot of people had the achieves done for PF way before that.
As long as Pathfinder Part 2 is ready as soon as 8.2 is released, I’m fine with it. Even if that means more reps, at least I will finally be able to unlock flying for BfA
It adds nothing to the game play, to quality of the content, the story, to the dungeons or raids or BGs… My specs don’t magically get better when flying comes into the game.
If people are saying “me not subbed, me unsubbed long ago” and yet are posting here… either e still subbed or waiting for their current sub to run out.
I feel so passive playing this game, auto piloting world quest and what not. Flying to closest FP, finish world quest, use whistle, fly to next nearest FP and repeat.
Not much exploration happening for me, dont know why they added so many FPs and a whistle if they wanted to keep us grounded and explore surroundings. Kinda ruins the whole point, if players want to explore they will do so on a ground mount or flying mount.
IMO the whistle and flight paths are more harmful than a player flying through the zones. You’re afk most times taking a flight path or using the whistle to then take a flight path.
At least with flying you control where you go and aren’t so passive, you may fly over something cool that you want to get a better look at whereas a flight path cant give you that option or exploration.
Sometimes I feel like I am playing a mobile game rather than a PC game due to design choices.
It’s a forum bug that I believe they are trying to correct. People without a subscription have been able to post since they swapped to this new forum software.
I definitely agree with you when it comes to the time gating aspect of Pathfinder. I don’t mind doing the achievement. I have all of the Pathfinders available thus far and actually enjoyed doing them. But waiting for almost a year for Part 2 to drop before we can actually fly is a bit nuts.
these threads always have a predictable follow-up.
people will quit now, and we’ll see them when they come back and complain that there needs to be some sort of pathfinder catch-up mechanic for people who weren’t playing, because they feel they shouldn’t need to do the same stuff everyone else did.
Why do you want flying so bad? What does flying do for you in game other than let you cheese WQ, maybe get to places a minute sooner, and just hovering in town for 3 hours as you wait for a group?
Listen, you clearly don’t want to play this game and experience content, so just quit. There is going to be more gating and there is going to continue to be more gating next expansion and the expansion after that and so on. Most people could care less because they have FUN playing the game as is. Flight does nothing for them because it’s not that important.
I let mine run out 2 months go. Waiting till expansion is almost over to fly is absurd, its only slightly off from their no flying stance. I miss playing wow, but till they wake up and actually provide what playerbase wants, its going to be a bad slippery slope.
Yup. I have zero issues with Pathfinder part one. That’s good. That works. Because by the time we’ve done everything, we’ve been through all of the main content and the world quests multiple times. That should be enough.
Part two feels like it’s just Blizz being petty and vindictive because people flipped when they weren’t going to add flying in Warlords.
You very well could be correct there. I currently have three level 120’s which is the most level capped players I’ve had in any expansion to date. This guy will most likely be my fourth. I’m ready for flying now. I enjoyed doing Pathfinder Part 1 as it allowed me to experience a plethora of content, but after the third time, I’d like to speed things up a little bit
Because it’s a great way to experience the world from a new perspective. It’s something we’ve been doing for twelve years.
We are playing the game. We got Pathfinder part one. There are those of us who are fine with the first part. We’ve run lots of stuff on the ground-- all content available-- on multiple characters for eight months.
Lose the attitude and try to have a little perspective.
The same people who cry about flying being locked behind a rep grind are probably the same people who think classic will be what true wow should be like.
