Who else is gonna cancel sub if we cant get flying immediately with 8.2 release?

11 Weeks? You must’ve been doing something wrong. The broken shore only took me like a week and a half.

I honestly don’t get why people are so hung up on flying, between the number of FPs, the whistle, and 10m hearths the difference between being able to fly and not fly isn’t that big. If flying is how you have fun in this game, I don’t know why you’re even playing this game.

If flying is the only reason why you are still playing, then I suggest you unsub now.

Things wont suddenly be better because you can fly.

Flying added to WoD and legion did improve gameplay for some people.

Rep grinds are… wait for it…

CONTENT GATES

The Broken Shore “Campaign” was a time gate. The system was designed to make you wait 11 weeks for Pathfinder II in Legion because each week unlocked a new “quest” in that so-called campaign.

My latest sub runs out in 1 hour and I don’t think I’ll be back until the next expansion. Flying is one of my favourite features of WoW and I’m really disappointed I won’t ever have gotten the chance to use it in current content.

Not leaving because of flight, but the bad design in regards to the timing and implementation of flight are just another reason to add to the pile of why I find this expansion frustrating and boring.

Hopefully Blizzard can salvage this mess and create a great expansion to follow up this one because I’m starting to get concerned WoW won’t survive another rubbish expansion of declining subs and player engagement.

[Removed because I got the live version mixed with the original PTR version]

So you want flight removed?

This is patently false, you can just look up the achievement, the Breaching the Tomb campaign is not required. All you needed to do is explore the Broken Shore and hit revered with the Armies of Legionfall, both of which are really easy.

Good luck to you!

Sad to see players leave over things Blizz could easily improve upon.

I was referring to the original design. It did include Breaching the Tomb. You had to get exalted instead of revered as well. It also required you to do a Legion Invasion in the four leveling zones too.

The first two were changed prior to release and the latter was removed in a hotfix on April 5th, 2017.

I’ll correct my reply. Thanks.

Bye then.

You’re not going to get it right away.

There’s going to be a Part 2 where you’ll have to do the storyline, revered with the new factions, and some other time-gating stuff.

Probably will be 2-3 weeks after 8.2 (if you grind it out) that flying will become available.

So… cya I guess?

I completed all of the content and exploring like three months into the expac. Did I have Pathfinder completed by then? No. But what’s the rush when you have to wait forever for the second part to come out anyway.

I agree with this 100%! I don’t mind all the requirements to pathfinder at all, because eventually I’ll have these completed because I love playing the game. However, when they spend months creating content, that can be completed in two weeks, it leaves a lot of waiting around for something you wish you could just earn already.

It would not be bad at all if pathfinder 1 and 2 were both available at the start of an expansion, even if the requirements took a player months to complete. There would at least be peace of mind knowing it’s already in game and within reach to players actually playing the game.

Until there’s accountability to these forums, saying “I will!” means nothing.

Unsubbing should remove or lock you out of these forums otherwise, there’s absolutely nothing stopping you from saying that you’ll unsub, then a day or two later, you’re back as if nothing happened.

What’s funny is that when flying is released the relevant zone has a no fly restriction.

There is no reason at all that we should not be able to fly when the first patch hits.

Pathfinder part 1 is fine, explore, quest in every zone, get rep with everyone. Ok fine, do that anyway leveling up. Part 2 is not needed.

They should do - part 1 lets you fly in the new expansion after the first patch hits.
part 2 lets you fly in whatever else is added (think broken shore). Then have other areas where there is no flying no matter what (like argus etc).

But time gating flying to this late after the expansion came out is bull.

Just checked my achievements and thought I’ld toss out this little crumb.

Purchased Legion - 9-3-16
Legion Pathfinder Part 1 - I earned on 1-2-17 … 4 months after purchase
Legion Pathfinder Part 2 - I earned on 4-28-17 … just under 4 months after earning part 1 … just under 8 months from purchase

Purchased BFA - Aug 17, 2018
BFA Pathfinder Part 1- I earned on 10-5-18 … just under 2 months after purchase
BFA Pathfinder Part 2 – not in game yet – already 6 months after earning part 1 and its been almost 8 months since purchase.

Who knows when exactly part 2 will be available, or what it will require. So it still needs to be implements, then earned … then we can fly.

Nah, I enjoy the game and flying, while more convenient and preferable, isn’t such a big part of my enjoyment of the game that I’d cancel my sub if I didn’t get it.

Exactly.

Can you elaborate? I’ve always played this game how I wanted to play.

Gating for gating’s sake is obscene.

The Nightfallen campaign was well gated and at least you did SOMETHING each week.

The Broken Shore campaign? Some of the steps were offensive and could have easily been combined into one week’s questing.

It’ll be even worse this time because there’s nothing else at the end of the road like there was the class mount for the BS (used unironically) campaign. Do it once, you’re done. There will literally be no reason to run alts through it.
