ok youve got the 285 fated leggo bow, why arent you just planning to upgrade it with the item you get from killing 20 heroic bosses? I just got the item today, it upgrades normal fated gear to heroic level

The big Question though ā¦ Can you upgrade the Legendary Past 285 ? with the Heroic/Mythic Ancient Creation Impetus.
Sad fact one has to burn a Dinar to upgrade old version to 285 in the first place.

The 285 Raeāshalare was 428 DPS lower than the 298 Streets x-bow. I did another comparison and the 298 Raeāshalare is about 270ish DPS higher than the 298 streets x-bow, but about 200 DPS lower than a 304ilvl version of the crossbow which you have potential to get from the vault.
So essentially a little vault luck could prove to be better than the Lego, but thatās based on static patchwork sims. Iād be more curious to see them compared in M+ keys where wailing arrow can absolutely wreck!

Iāll know Tuesday after raid if the 20 tokens can upgrade it. Iām a few short thanks to some bad timing the last two weeks, but will hit 20 after a couple bosses in sepulcher and try it out.

Mind running that sim vs the Mythic Raeāshalare.
Iāve been curious how it stacks up vs a 304 Streets X-Bow. Luck in vault has been the plague of this xpac sadly. But doesnāt stop me from trying each week haha. Sad Face. . .
I had a small hope the 20 kill boss items would upgrade the Season 2 bow up to Season 4 but that was a bust. I doubted it worked but worth a try as the information on this topic is limited and a lot of guess.
the trick some of us are hoping will work is you upgrade the s2 bow to 285 on the dinar vendor, this is confirmed to work, then take that new 285 (Hopefully āFatedā) bow and upgrade it to 298 with the heroic upgrade

Iām out of town until tomorrow but I can sim it with the 311 mythic version when I get back. Iām pretty certain itāll be a fairly sizable difference over any 304 weapon, and still BIS over a 311 weapon from CN or Sepulcher.
My guild is personally planning to stop raiding after we get the new āfatedā achievement mount and taking a break from raiding until dragon flight. I may try and find a mythic guild to run with if the heroic upgrade works to try and get the 311 version.
Otherwise what Iām mostly curious about and what I think will be the best overall comparison that will be most applicable to the majority of folks that arenāt mythic raiding will be the 298 Rae vs any of the 304 M+ vault weapons for actual M+ performance. Single target the 304 weapons may sim just slightly higher, but I think in M+ with more cleave damage that adding wailing arrow to the rotation with beast cleave buff will be way more valuable overall. Just in my first couple runs I was seeing 35k crits on the primary target and 14-17k crits on everything else since itās uncapped! IE: that first pull in gambitā¦
Yea Iām curious to see how the simes compares as I cross fingers for the 304 Tash X-bow.
I see with the Droptimizer that a 304 is a 2.6% increase and Mythic Raeāshalare is a 4.3%.
But is this due to each individual character stat weights? At the time of posting I have a 298 Light Auto-Stabilizing Energy Rifle from Mechagon
Why do I want to buy the ugrage, if it doesnāt even drop the bow .-.
You would buy the bow with Dinare pending if it drops for you, and upgrade the bow with the item you get for 20 boss kills on X difficulty.
So 20 fated Heroic bosses = one item to be upgraded to Heroic item level.
If I shut up, I could buy it clearly, yes I would buy itā¦ the problem is that I have never seen it fall
edit: I already killed him with my hunter in two games where there was at least one hunter (normal/heroic) and neither shame nor glory I didnāt shoot him
Yea only a few reports of folks getting the S4 bow to drop.
As another posted said, āOne must get lucky twiceā and this is the bad feeling. It was said to have an improved drop rate but by how much? One shot at the bow on X difficulty every 3 weeks at this time, said to improve as S4 continues but a whole raid isnāt going to go back to a boss for the Hunters on the team.
So best of luck to all with this one, as we all continue to piece together the information.

Burn a Dinar to get Bow Upgrade to fated difficulty OR Hope to hell it drops again.
Home casual Guild went heroic 9/10 till Sylvanas then stalled out due to the Bugginess of her last Teleport and Ran out of time.
I Sat in a few Normal/Heroic Sylvanas Qās last couple days Ended up just doing LFR for the 10 fated completion. Then went M+ ing instead for the Weekly.
Okay, back home and ran some new sims today. Keep in mind this is based off my current gear you see equipped on my character. (290 ilvl), and is subject to change from toon to toon obviously, but I figure the sims still give you a rough idea value wise of the Raeāshalare at itās different item levels vs maxed out M+ Yasahm vs vault 304 Yasahm.
311 Raeāshalare - 17,007 (+978)
304 M+ Yasahm - 16,679 (+650)
298 Heroic RaeāShalare - 16,495 (+466)
298 M+ Yasahm X-bow - 16,451 (+422)
Metrohunt - 16,030 (Current Baseline w/ 285 Raeāshalare)
Iām currently a bit over DR threshold for crit, but working on it. Even though my 298 Yasahm is better, Iām still using the 285 Rae in M+ because Iām trying to get a rough idea of the benefits from using wailing arrow on big trash pulls with full dmg modifiers up, and I figure Iāll have 298 Rae on tuesday anyways so itās not a big deal.

Looking at just droptomizer I ran some sims to compare as you brought up current gear, and wanted to see if the difference was noticeable. āevery point counts hahaā
Current Gear 295.37 - 16,987 DPS current weapon used is a 298 Light Auto-Stabilizing Energy Rifle.
311 Raeāshalare + 712 - 17,669 DPS
304 M+ Yasham + 394 - 17,381 DPS
311 Reaāshalare is a 318 DPS increase over the 304 M+ Yasham
298 Raeāshalare + 190 - 17,143 DPS
So after the notes we have looks like vault luck is BIS until M Raeāshalare, pending the wailing arrow in big pulls as you pointed out.

Gotāer upgraded to 298 with the 20 heroic tokens tonight! I know we were pretty sure it would be the case, but can now 100% confirm it.
