Well I got the 285 normal mode drop, never had the original season 2 bow so I wouldn’t have had to use the Dinar either way. Snagged the quiver with the dinar.

Ya Im pretty happy, used a Dinar to upgrade my Mythic S2 bow to 285 then used the heroic upgrade part to upgrade it to 298, its nice the bow I worked so hard for is relevant again. Blizz made a right decision here.

The Puzzling Cartel Dinar you get from the quest to kill 30 fated raid bosses is the currency.
The vendors are next to the Great Vault, but until you’ve completed the quest they’re phased out.
I had the 233 version, and is now sitting in my bank. I did not receive the upgrade token when I cleared heroic sylvanas last time it was fated. Here’s hoping this week is different.

I didn’t get it again this week, unless it’s hiding somewhere in my bags. Maybe I need to bring the bow with me next time? But then again, it only goes up to 285, and will be a dps downgrade for any 291+ weapon
What are you looking for? The upgrade that Sylvanas drops upgrades a 285 FATED bow to 298. Are you are thinking of the quest reward dinar for killing fated bosses that buys the upgrade vendor item that upgrades a NON FATED bow from S2 to 285, which can then be upgraded to 298 with a heroic upgrade item you get for collecting 20 of those whatchamacallits.
No, it also upgrades non fated s2 bow to fated heroic/mythic ilvl.

Everyone upgrading their bow the first time SoD came out when they still didn’t have any dinars, and had S2 bow.
And where have you seen them talk about upgrading at that time?
In game, seeing them with mythic/heroic ilvl bow.
Also there is literally a blue post saying :
- Sylvanas herself will still drop the bow on Fated weeks, and like it functioned in Season 2, will drop items in place of the bow for anyone who holds it that upgrade Rae’shalare to S4 Normal, Heroic, or Mythic item levels respectively.
It could have been interpreted another way except for one small word that confirms your information. The word is normal lol. It says you can upgrade it to NORMAL S4, the only bow that can “upgrade” to normal would be a S2 bow since there is no lfr bow, so thanks for the info.

Okay, so I just learned something. If you have the normal fated bow, you CAN upgrade it with the heroic upgrade. I just did that after killing H Sylvanas for the bow lol so if you have enough to upgrade something, upgrade the bow!

I had 246 Non fated version. Which I upgraded to the Normal Fated 285 level then used Cosmic Creation Impetus To upgrade to a 298 Heroic bow.
As a side Note DO not use the Bow effect Wailing Arrow on Sylvanas as it will trigger this weeks Fated Affix prematurely.
Still an Rarer than Hens teeth drop Have seen Neither token or Bow drop Last 2 Fated kills Multiple hunters.

No not obvious, we were specifically discussing the item that Sylvanas drops lol so when you jumped in it got a little confusing. I also used a dinar to upgrade and then a heroic upgrade, but was totally unaware that Sylvanas’s item drop also upgraded the old S2 bow, its a nice bonus but like you said it seems very rare to get.
Sorry I assumed people would get the “When Option One is Unavailable. Then Option Two becomes the default choice”
It is sort of hidden away but yes you can do it. I upgraded my 246 Raeshalare to 285 with the dinar item, then to 298 with the heroic upgrade item.
