Where are playable Night Elf Paladins?

If Blizzard is wise Paladin would be the best choice for the next class to be universally unlocked. Excluding the two recent heroic classes (DH and lizzards) they are second only to Druids regarding lack of availability. Druids would be a lot of work - you need a background story, five unique forms, abilities & their effects for starters. Paladins need a background story but abilities & their effects would be much less diverse than druids. Pallyl’s have also been on the high-demand list for all races.

Standing in line, right behind the Forsaken Paladins!

Should probably be in front of forsaken paladins but i mean they should absolutely exist too so wouldn’t matter which comes first to me. More so that we flat out got a night elf paladin in game and saw the entire process of how she became one, should have been added right after legion imo.

They could add white spell effects for paladin spells similar to green fire for warlock. No other class in the game uses white tinted holy spells as far as im aware so the devs would not have to worry about pvpers not knowing what class they are facing since it would only be nelf paladins with white light, meaning it is easier to identify them not harder.

I dont think this is a lot to ask for, just add in a quest chain to unlock Night elf paladins and the end reward can be ‘new cosmetic spell effect: elunes blessing’ and the race mount.

I agree with Shad and Bris that that questline is pretty terrible.

The way tauren got paladins is they created an order of holy warriors and healers that get the Light from An’she. Night elves already have an order like this so for one of them to turn her back on Elune to follow the ways of a human is just wrong.

It’s not a lot to ask for. Last I recall PVP folks tend to use addons that audibly notify the player what important spells are being used, so they couldn’t get THAT confused in a fight.

Some different particle affects to fit specific racial themes would be great. They did it for the green fire, why not do more stuff like that. Since they’ve suddenly decided to be more keen on releasing more cosmetic stuff to the game.

Well it is an excuse devs have used so I just wanted to state that as a pvper it is a pretty bad reason, especially if the spell effect is unique. They could and should do it.

It doesn’t really matter if its terrible, it exists and is in the game still. As far as I’m aware it is canon, especially to paladin lore/story regardless of its implementation. It could have definitely been better, but it doesn’t mean that night elf paladins suddenly don’t exist.

However they should have definitely had the questline be more about Elune blessing night elves to become paladins or something like that and then they create an order from that.

They could do that still as the questline to unlock Night elf paladins. You could go through recruiting night elves that want to be a bit more physically aggressive with the light, and in order to do that you gain elunes blessing or something alongside the night elves you recruited. Then you have the Paladin Order of Elune or whatever the name can be.

Opening every class to every race absolutely takes a steaming poo on story/lore, but that ship sailed long ago. There’s really no putting the genie back in the bottle at this point.

Aside from a few RP servers, no one can say that RP, lore, and story concerns are important to the majority playing this game.

Sucks for those of us that actually care about those things, but it is what it is.

I mean I definitely wouldn’t disagree with that, I do think it is weird. Lightforged warlocks/Draenei warlocks, Eredar Paladins, etc already got added though and to be honest I would say thats already far over the edge. Same with Tauren rogues. Thats why I am now pushing for orcs/night elf paladins and all that, because its clear they’ve already decided to go forward with opening up the races based on what they’ve done.

For me I guess I care more about having a lot of races to choose from. Having orc paladins or night elf paladins or even forsaken paladins available just gives so many options cosmetically and I enjoy that aspect more than story, so for me I am fine with it, but I don’t disagree with it being bad for story choice, however I guess RPer’s can mostly just ignore the bad combos if they want to right?

Yeah pretty much. I was against all race/class combos for years but nothing I can do about it now except roll a tauren warlock.

The armor doesn’t fit right. I mean how do you make a night elf look even dorkier? Stick them in a pair of highwater plate armor legs and chest with sleeves to mid-forearm. And the helmet? … use you’re imagination.

That’s a bit confusing considering they can be Death knights and Warriors, both of which have access to a lot of the same plate transmogs paladins do outside of some tier sets.

If they shot down the idea of something cool so a minority of players’ mini-game would be unaffected, I would be sad.

Also, spell glyphs are a thing and have been for a long time. Maybe players can just learn when they see the plate-armored night elf casting silvery white magic, it means paladin. I don’t imagine anyone getting confused by the priest talent that changes SW:Pain to some kind of holy fire or the glyph that changes that one void creature into a Lightspawn.

Honestly, I felt like their only window of opportunity was in 8.1 when they introduced the Night Warrior. They could have made it a Paladin order called “The Night Warriors” instead of just having one.

I don’t really think there is a window of opportunity they need to take, they could definitely create a questline involving a group of night elves alongside the player converting from priests to paladins (or something like that, they don’t even need to be a ‘class’ prior) with the questline having a focus on gaining elunes blessing to become paladins which could then lead to an end of quest reward being a new spell effect color and race mount. Could learn about the reasons those night elves want to become paladins during the questline too which would be interesting.

I don’t really think the spell effect portion will happen, I would be very surprised if Blizzard took those steps and actually gave a new spell color to nelf paladins, but I do think they can create that type of questline any time and it would make sense.

The night warrior questline was a great time for it though for sure.

Imo the hero talent stuff is the perfect time to bring back glyphs in a BIG way with race+spec specific visuals like moon paladin, sun paladin, etc

Quoted for truth.

or they could be happy that other people are happy and not limited because of “mah rp!” If it really is that much of a meltdown, just don’t allow night elf paladins or any other race / class combo into your rp groups… cough form your own group.

Or…as Shaelys stated:
