Because this is what Blizzard does when fun is detected.
It’s running fairly well. I’ve found I enjoy the Herald of the Sun ones more than the Templar ones, though Templar is easily higher DPS. You get a ton of extra healing with the Herald talents, and that has greatly helped with survivability in the expansion as I’ve felt things be rather spongy for the time being. I’ve struggled with weaponry though so I’m hoping as I get more gear that will change.
Awesome, looking outside in Ret Pali seems amazing. I don’t know much about the Heroics, but Damn. Seems like a medieval Jedi now.
I think it’s normal with time to be less hyped for expansion releases, but TWW is the first one where I wasn’t itching to play as soon as it went live (not EA).
Yesterday when it was going live at 6pm EST I was out for a run while my kids were finishing their CC practice. Came home and had dinner, cleaned up, watched a few episodes of Suits with my wife. Then around 11pm decided to boot up WoW, and I logged into classic lol.
Around midnight I logged into TWW, did the Dalaran scenario, then quit for the night feeling a definite meh.
Imagine thinking fictional pixel classes are interesting
……by a video game.
Lulz.
Well I was being overly dramatic. I’ll be fine, I think
Mine has been.
Can’t heal for crap, my tank gets wrecked. Dungeons are a disaster for me and I don’t want to play as a result.
And I was looking forward to keys.
It’s kinda wild the max level campaign quests speak as if you have already unlocked earthen. Theu always planned on unlocking them with release all their marketing info points to this. The unlock adventure mode points to this. The quests point to this. This arbitrary addition of needing the next set of quests to unlock must have been added late by some idiot who needs to be fired because he cost the company in the long run.
I got your delivery. I just thought it was pretty funny.
Man, one step forward, two steps back.
How about being CLEAR from the get go as to when an advertised feature of an expansion is set to release. It should say clearly in the marketing “Play as an Earthen on X date”, not just “Play as the new Earthen allied race”.
Stop timegating features like this, it is scummy and lame. This only benefits the company, and hurts your player base.
I wish someone at a leadership role would just acknowledge that the adverts were, at best, misleading. If the CEO of Crowdstrike can show up in person to accept a ‘Worst Cybersecurity Firm of the Year’ award, Blizzard can surely acknowledge a little marketing mishap.
Indeed, I wish they would too, but they wont and it’s smart on their part.
Still absolutely scummy on their part though.
That’s pretty funny.
Looks like they haven’t released them yet today? Oop. They’re really not doingwell on the whole PR front. And maybe legal front in the EU.
Defending Blizz like you are on there pay roll . Sad you are mate . We shouldnt be time gated for earthen when we already know all about them . Blizz takes a big fat L for there BS
I’ll critcize them when I feel they deserve it but like I have said in these threads is they have said since June what the requirements are .
Completion of the following will make them available:
- The War Within storyline:
- Against the Current
- News from Below
- A Light in the Dark
- Ties that Bind
- The Machines March to War
- Level-up campaign, Beginning Anew from Rock Bottom
- Help Machinist Kittrin mend broken tools for Reforged Purpose
- Assist Councilward Merrix in returning stability to Dornogal in Bad Business.
- Help Urtago and Korgran perform a ceremony for As He Departs
- Help Urtago at Fallside Outpost take on her new role in The Weight of Duty
At no time did they say or not say that there would be a wait for any part of the main TWW story at 80 but when has the final chapter of any patch come after the first week ?
Never as far as I know and most cases in the past the leveling quest line and the level 80 would be together and we would get 2 to 3 chapters a week maybe 4 and wouldn’t get Earthen for another month if we were getting this old school Blizz way .
Heck old school we’d be getting3 to 4 chapters a week and have to get our rep/reknown to a certain level before we could play earthen.
So that is why I have no problem with how it is being done because common sense would dictate that with any allied race which earthen are , there would be some hoops to jump through .
New races come at xpac launches . Allied races are earned.
No one is upset about the requirements. We’re upset that they should’ve been available to unlock no later then 8/26 according to the info-graph advertisement of tww features. The graph explicitly said you could play as earthen no later then 8/26
The reason I have an issue is b/c of misleading info graphics. Even that post you linked has “after completing their quests and the overall level-up campaign”. Its not until later in the article the storyline campaign is mentioned. Which people mentioned that site was potentially changed recently, but I have no proof other than what was said in the forums.
I’m fine with unlocks. Just not with how the information of the time when this race will be actually playable was presented. I suspected they’d be hoops to jump through, I just thought I’d already be able to fully jump through those hoops while in EA and at launch and unlock Earthen.
So if the 4th chapter is locked till september 3rd why cant i get past the 2nd chapter is chapter 3 time gated to?
Survey says……… yes
Disappointed but not surprised is how we should describe blizzard
