There is a ton of hate for vulpera; lotta try-hards who think they’re too cute or trolls who hate them for being animals (but excuse tauren for some reason).
I think its more so the way the fanbase acts. Vulpera fans have a tendancy of putting vulpera on a pedestal a lot in a way that tauren and worgen fans almost never do. Its kind of like how the undertale fanbase first was way Undertale was released. Plus unlike high elf fans you would flood the forums with many vulpera spam threads. The vulpera fanbase is pretty toxic, so its no wonder its going to attract a lot of haters.
Sure, vulpera are nowhere close to the most popular, but an eyeball scan easily puts them in Top 5. (Seems BElf, Undead, Troll, Orc, with Vulpera/Tauren pretty closely tied for 5th to me.)
The wow census places them in 8th place right behind void elves so I am not sure how accurate that chart is.
I will never understand why people expect Blizzard to fix a problem that doesn’t exist like exist, it’s like people are always going to play what they want to play so making thread after thread about bias or imbalance will never change that.
And yet here we are where they still aren’t fixing anything because there’s really nothing to fix so, really what exactly was the point in your reply if you actually had or have one that is.
With regards to the warmode bonus, it shouldn’t exist at all unless they balance each region separately. Alliance dominate the oceanic scene by a large margin and yet they get the warmode bonus instead of horde, because blizzard don’t care to separate the fact that while Oceanic players are technically on NA servers, when we’re playing in the open world with warmode, we’re matched against our own oceanic players.
Faction imbalance has been a thing since forever and I honestly don’t think they know how to fix it now. This hole has been getting deeper for 15 years now. Unless they remove racials completely and offer no faction specific benefits, and then start offering free faction changes for a period of time, nothing will change. Even if they did that, I think people have chosen their faction and made so many connections that they wouldn’t want to change anyway at this point.
Alliance racials : NE shadowmeld breaks combat and allows you to stealth, is OP and used in MDI all the time because it’s OP. Mecagnome racial of combat analysis is strong for primary stat, etc.
The Horde story is more interesting & better developed.
The Alliance complaining “but we are the good guys” is annoying and turns a blind eye to their faction leaders that have also done bad deeds.
I like the Horde more. lok tar ogar.
The Horde has been the main characters since the end of W3. Outside of Jaina, and Arthas none of the other Alliance heroes are on par with the Horde Heroes. Even the ones who are dead or are evil the Alliance doesn’t have nearly the same type characters that are as impactful towards the world as the Horde does. I mean literally the Horde has Thrall who saved the world multiple times, Gul’Dan is the reason the world is the way it is, Sylvanas literally broke the afterlife. The Trolls are the original race in Azeroth and somehow can defy death itself.
