When did the WoW community get so political?

This is exactly how this country went from arguing red v blue to elites v the working class. Those supporting the working class are NOT the ones who always claimed they did…

I’m so not even touching any of that, sorry. I come into these crazy threads for the quips. I’ve been on reddit too long to be baited into arguments like that one, yikes.

I’ll just say – diversify your media intake, and your social circles, as everyone on all sides should. Remember there’s no easy “one word” answer or solution. And remember not to fall prey to the natural tribal inclination to blame one group of people for your personal woes.

Look up the Reichstag Fire, doll. Remember what world events revolved around it. It might make you think twice about that tribalism.

Chat channels have always been a little … special.

I’m hesitent to say things are getting worse, but the talking points seem very repetitive these days.

ESO has a lot of it as well. Obvious trolls being obvious. Abrupt declarations of love for Trump-brand populism just to get a rise out of people. I don’t even believe they’re supporters. It’s just trolls trolling there, at least.

Lol someone is angry And no illegal immigration is a massive issue in America. We have laws that need to be followed by both sides otherwise America is a laughing stalk to the world if it cant follow its own laws…

Illegals should not be here in first place. If laws were followed by both sides they would all be deported I am not being mean laws are meant to be followed most of the time.

And deporting is not inhumane Every other country in world does it and nobody screams at them…

I am sick of people like you defending Illegals when it comes at expensive of the working class having to support them and we loose our jobs to them becuse they work for cheaper under the table.

It’s not about criticizing or trashing the company you work for. It’s about expressing your views and beliefs without facing unreasonable (imo) repercussions.

The original argument on this thread was that people are still free to express their ideas and beliefs freely in the game with the shield of anonymity which is why you see a lot of it nowadays. If you were to say the same things on facebook or twitter, for example saying “I believe transgenderism is a mental disorder” you can be fired from your job for expressing that belief.

Everywhere became more political, not just WoW.

For worse or worse.

Frustrated people whose real lives feel pointless are sitting in trade chat not playing a game that is no longer fun.

I suggest you find some part of the game you want to play that is not in a trade chat-enabled zone. Or just shut off trade chat.

The people who are killing the working class arent the laborers looking for work, its the owners hiring them over their own countryman, your hate is misplaced, its not the poor from across the border, its the wealthy within that has precipitated the death of the working class in america over the last 60 years, if you cant see that your blind, nwbtcw.

yeah they do a very decent job of getting rid of political stuff. generally

People please flag OP this poltical talk will go nowhere but flame wars which it already has.

And a big message to both Republicans and Democrats screw both parties hope they all burn in hell for ever…

America is just a sad place these days…

The phrase “politically correct” means anything agreeable to those in power – whoever that is at the present time.

Therefore, people who don’t see anything wrong with characters other than straight males, etc., are NOT being politically correct. Liberals are not politically correct. The people arguing against them are.

tbh the PC police are mostly on the alliance side …

i got a 30min timeout for telling a Charlie Murphy joke from the Chappel Show -_- and thats pretty tame compared to the things you see in horde chat

its just the PC correctness of the youth of today meeting the neckbeard vets, if people could just shrug off a joke with crude humor or just being sarcastic the world can go back to being a better place … no need to report just use the friggin ignore option

yes i understand small children play … but if your worried about what some other person is saying and could maybe influence your child in the wrong way on the internet … well… you know what … maybe they shouldn’t be on the interwebb in the 1st place

  • the internet is not a kind place -

The term political correctness (adjectivally: politically correct ; commonly abbreviated PC ) is used to describe language, policies, or measures that are intended to avoid offense or disadvantage to members of particular groups in society. Since the late 1980s, the term has come to refer to avoiding language or behavior that can be seen as excluding, marginalizing, or insulting groups of people considered disadvantaged or discriminated against, especially groups defined by sex or race.

No it doesn’t.

Alot of them are taking jobs from super markets fast food joints and theme park I work at … here in CA especially people hiring dont do back ground checks to make sure their legal.

Due to Califorina being a Sanctuary state.

But its pontless trying to argue with people like you who love illegal immigrants. Whats next they deserve to be American citizens and be rewarded for coming here illegally ?
