When did KSM become so devalued?

The person you quoted was talking about CE. Maybe if you weren’t meaning CE you shouldn’t have directly quoted them.

It is, you need 2000 points to unlock upgrades, which can be done with +10s. They did not update the requirement from last season after adding 2 more dungeons.

Heroic raid equivalent, upgradable, gear for doing +10s lol.

yea for sure but i dont think i heard of a ce carry. i am sure the odd top guild might do it. but in general this arena carrying and m+ carrying is a plague to the game in general. nothing worst than going in a m+ with a nice fat 2800+ player and out dpsing him by like 5k on your 560 alt lol.

edit----> even for me. i play on illidan. i am loaded with gold. so much gold i needed to make multiple guilds to hold it all. and if you look at my pvp achievements i have literially nothing. i would never buy a run in a million years. but thats just me. i could not stoop to that level.

I am sure someone out there does it… but I wouldn’t imagine it would be enough to be noticeable.

How about that… I went and looked it up. How did I not notice this and why I am not working on gear on alts. I assumed it would be KSM to do the last upgrade.

I mean it would have been a fair assumption. It was a major oversight on their part.

Teaches me to pay attention more. I wasn’t really bothering for rating on alts because I knew I wasn’t going to go for KSM on them so I was just relying on the vault and not trying to get scores for all the dungeons. 2k is silly easy though… guess I will do that.

I don’t think it’s devalued. I felt pretty good when I got it. I still do, because I know I earned it.

As they say in the gym, no matter how much you can lift, somebody somewhere is warming up with your max

In my opinion, KSM/Raider IO is a pretty static metric that doesn’t give an in-depth overview of a person. It is very one dimensional.

  1. IO can be carried.
  2. IO doesn’t necessarily represent skill.
  3. It isn’t going to demonstrate a person’s strength or weaknesses, outside generalizations.
  4. I’ve had bad experiences relying on IO alone.

Yesterday I had some questionable experiences with high IO players, a resto druid that was pulling 3k hps, while the warrior in the group was being just about 1 shotted due to performing poorly in mechanics. They came as a “pair.” Key was dropped halfway through. Ilvl doesn’t guarantee quality either, but it is an assumption people make that a person can easily outperform those with lower ilvl gear, that isn’t always true either. It has a lot to do with people who press keys, and these metrics just aren’t good for that. The reliance on IO appears more like a crutch/“safety” net.

Not to say this is “ALWAYS” true, but i’ve seen both sides and generally quit caring. If they’re good I’ll add them as friends and speak with them. It has a lot more to do with how someone plays than the documentation of results that can be misrepresented.

Why isnt dozer perma banned

When I have to get a pug IO is only a starting point for me, rather than the end. At a brief glance it may tell you something, but I always check # of completed dungeons and highest key on whatever dungeon I am planning to do.

edit: And number of times they have done the dungeon… if it’s only once it’s prob a carry.

Yeah, I do that too sometimes. I find it is so sporadic that I can’t necessarily set expectations. There is a bell curve for performance, and repetition can be misleading. Its like my situation with mage, i’m a terrible mage, but I love arcane, I wouldn’t take it into a high key. I had friends who dragged me along on a few with my mage, but It is primarily my AH/crafter. Also sells portals occasionally.

My feral is a different story, where I find myself doing the vast majority of interrupts and bursting regularly.

Key I was referring to 15:

I had 17 interrupts
Rogue 15
Warrior 12
Tank 3

DPS
Feral (mine-264) 8.8k 75m
Sub Rogue (275ilvl) 8.7k 75m
Fury Warrior 6.8k 5.81m
Rdruid 3.8k 3.26m
BDK 3.4k 2.94m

HPS
RDruid 2.6k (234k)
BDK 971 (86.1k)
Feral (me) 971 (75.5k)
Rogue 713 (63.3k
Fury war 46 (4.2k)

Rogue M+ score 2591

I think ultimately it is gonna come down to pugs are gonna pug. Or like Forest Gump said (bastardized) “Pugs are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are gonna get.”

ain’t that the truth. I’ve just about gave up on pugging lol.

Thankfully I don’t pug too much. Have a set group, but I will dip my toes every now and again to see if there are any new/different strategies I think would work for my group… but that’s generally at the beginning of seasons where the gene pool is a little more clean if you take my meaning.

15s are easy with double lego. 15s feel like normal mode. That’s why.

yeah the gaps between “amazing”, “lower than dog $hit”, and mediocrity greatly widens with each season’s passing. I did 2 keys, and said F this, then tried H raid, and they were “progressing” the second boss. Went back to my farming. I couldn’t be bothered.

Yeah. The first few weeks of content is generally fine, but the further out we get the worse things get.
