The player is hitting the key to fire the ability. That’s not automation.
Bots are using automation since the player isn’t at the keyboard. Programs like IS Boxer don’t allow for that.
idk which comment you’re replying to
You are laughably over emphasizing what portion of any profits goes towards that. I highly doubt 1/8 of the profits goes to the main account. Who in their right mind would multibox 8 accounts if it was that logistically consuming to keep the operation running? There would be zero benefit to it and you’d do just as well going around by yourself on a single account.
The reason why multibox farming is a thing is because it is absolutely lucrative for that single player to do so.
There’s a little arrow next to who the player responded to in his post at the top right. If you click that it’ll show the post they are replying to.
I too, remember all those times random strangers agreed to grind for hours at a time, and give me all of the loot. Yep, that’s a thing that happens all the time.
you would think they would be faster banning botters for that very reason.
Yes there is. Player hits a key with third party app.
Window 1 > copy keystroke to Window 2 > copy keystroke to Window 3 > and so on…
Hitting a key does not do that on normal scenario.
It’s an argument that used to kind of work in a PvP setting. They’d always say it’s no different than 8 players individually targeting/focusing a single person.
It doesn’t hold any water when it comes to farming/making gold for the reason you stated.
Not sure I understand the question, unless you didn’t get to the part where I said WoW tokens are also a mistake, unless we want to count RMT. Unless you’re referring to real life, in which is an invalid argument since this is in fact, not real life.
I did
but still, if the reasoning is “unfair advantage = you can (but don’t have to) spend real money to get/do something” then that applies to anything in wow.
Yes, but just like Soloboxers, not everyone farms. Before Multiboxing and WoW Tokens making it easy, people were soloboxing their farms and their AH and still making millions of gold.
Why does it matter how people play the game, just let them play as long as what they’re doing is legit.
Do you see me complain that people abused WoD missions to make millions of gold that they still have today? Or that some AH goblin don’t even leave Org and make millions, they stay there 15h/day AFK just scanning the AH with their automated addons. I don’t care because that is not FUN to me. It’s their choice, their playstyle. Just like Multiboxing is a play style.
Multiboxing has a higher entry cost, its more complicated to set-up, it takes a while getting used to (going on 5years for me and still barely done any challenging content), we are gimping ourselves when it comes to group content because blizzard is going hard on Mechanics that single out a character. In PVP we are working with half efficiency. Meaning 2 players can kill an average 5boxer.
4players can kill a 10 boxer. 15 can kill a 40boxer.
Can you just let us play our gimped playstyle and allow us to have fun just like every other play style.
You think funneling into top mythic racing guilds is not a thing? everyone working to pump up that 1 character who’s going to participate in the raid, with gold, RMT’s BOE and stuff?
ALL Playstyles are valid, as long as they respect the Blizzard Rules.
The player is still executing the attack themselves. They’re at the keyboard.
With a program that automates it. Do I need to repeat it again?
See this proves you don’t know how it works. It’s not sequencial, it all happens as soon as I hit the key.
I press 1 - All clients (ALL CLIENTS) see it at the same time “I received 1”, Imagine my keyboard has 5 usb cables attached to 5 PC each running their wow client. I press 1, what happens?
At a level that does not break blizzard’s rules for automation. Does that need to be repeated again?
The unfair advantage part isn’t talking about not being able to do something on 1 character that 10 can do, it’s arguing that fact that those 10 characters played by 1 person can do it 10x faster since everything earned is for the profit of 1 player instead of 10 separate players
Still haven’t read the thread title aye?
Again. You don’t really understand automation. Having the keystroke apply to multiple instances of the game running at the same time is not automation. Automation means the player isn’t controlling the action which is botting.
Blizz has said multiple times that boxing is legit because they actually get the difference.
Expected. Circling again. Copying a keystroke is automation
That DOES NOT break Blizzard’s rules for automation. Your’s don’t count.
