Fundamentally it’s not different, but how many times would 7 other people be willing to funnel all of their resources to the benefit of one other person? If 8 separate people were farming herbs together, why would 7 of them send them all to another person to go sell on the AH and keep the gold when they could all individually sell them themselves and keep the money?
It’s not only his opinion, but the opinion of Blizzard as well. Stated MANY times, by them. So you’re wrong there.
The advantages are the same as grouping. And those groups all pay individual subscriptions like everyone else.
So then why don’t they dominate end game?
If multi-boxers are better why are they not everywhere?
You can multi-box for free relatively easily.
False, 1 person is and always will be more coordinated than numerous players playing together, essentially cheesing the game. No one argued that it was allowed, if you read the thread title you’d see that.
Copying keystroke for an action in the game for multiple characters is an automation.
This is done by single player with power level multiplied. Its totally different. Its cheating. This is a big deal on competitive play. Typical excuse.
Another one to disappear
Really, how many multiboxers have gotten CE achievements by multiboxing?
It doesn’t matter what they do with it. The same amount of herbs has been collected and is now in the game economy.
People think we all funnel to 1 character and never spend for our other accounts.
It would cost me 650k gold a month to pay for all my subs if I was to farm gold. I don’t have time to farm that every month because then i wouldn’t have time to play. (remember, multiboxers are humans and they have lives, they can’t play 24/7)
Don’t forget that we also have 5-10-40 characters to take care of, gear them, enchant them, gem them, repair them.
Again i’m not talking about the AFK farmers who do hyperspawn kills in greens with fresh 120…
It isn’t copying for one thing. You are also wrong there is no automation.
This is done by a single player, but to you and to blizzard, we are effectively N characters. What you’re seeing is N characters attacking you, not 1 player. You don’t know the player behind the character. It’s none of your business who is behind the character.
People manipulating the economy by bulk purchasing are far worse for the economy than people who actively contribute to it.
Probably quite a few, farm obscene amounts of gold with their advantage since they’re able to farm at a 10x or higher rate than a normal player, then buy the carries.
I don’t think you know what automation actually means.
Yes, it is. Only people defending it does not recognize it.
In that case macros are automation.

It 100% matters what they do with it in the context of the argument presented. The fact of the matters is you DON’T see that happening, where 8 people work in concert for the benefit of one player to make gold, because no one would spend their game time that way. There is no way in heck I’d follow another player for 8 hours farming herbs just to give them all to him and allow him to keep the gold for himself. Even if he gave me enough back for a WoW token, that’s still a huge waste of my time.
The net result for the server economy might be the same, i.e. X herbs entering the AH from 8 accounts farming them at the same time, but the benefit to the single player is absolutely different because 8 accounts are working together for the benefit of one. There’s a big difference between items being sold and the proceeds split among 8 different players and the same amount being sold and kept by one person.
I got no issue with that. Macros are done within the game programming though.
And that person uses it to benefit all the 8 characters on the team?? Pay their subs, their enchants, and consumables?
There is no technical difference between in game macro and sending a single key stroke to multiple devices.
except you’re not required to pay for the sub with gold, thus giving you the option to pay for it with real money and keep the in-game advantage gold to yourself.
But wouldn’t everything fall under that logic?
