I wouldn’t mind it for non-combat pets just to have Uuna able to skip happily around my house.
If you think the “engine” WoW is currently running on is the same one it ran on during Vanilla, you haven’t been paying attention

Fun little thing I did, before we had the Arathi cook collection, was I’d keep certain mail from folks and books I found around the world that were interesting in my bank. 2-3 bank vault tabs just full of book junk items.

Is there any reason to believe the modern team won’t screw this up?
It would be great to have a JSON export and import for the own WoW house.
So you can share it with friends, and in case of messing stuff up during redecorating you can import the old state.
The only limitation is when the imported setup contains decorations you don’t own, then these spots will be empty in your new home after import (but then you can place something else there).

Is there any reason to believe this won’t be screwed up and/or or heavily monetized?
And if they monetize it under the premise of “cosmetic, who cares?”, then that means it will not be content for anyone who isn’t interested in further pumping money into the game.
I could certainly see this content being passed over by a lot of players (like delves), who aren’t looking to dump money, only people actually asked for player housing (not delves), so it could leave a bad taste in mouths /shrug
Reliance on the wow token is monetization btw.

I’m thinking like a housing district. Either that or static homes in the world that you enter and it puts you into a housing instance much like approaching your garrison

How cool would that be if they designated random spots through all the zones you could buy and build on. That way when you’re exploring/leveling/traveling you can come across random neighborhoods of player homes.
I understand the issue though that there are so many players on some servers that it would overwhelm the world so you would also need instanced areas or specific zones just for housing (i.e. FF 14). However, they could have a certain amount of plots in certain areas in each zone and it costs a little extra to live out in the world.

You have a personalized own dungeon with mini bosses kinda like custom delves, that you can invite you group into.
Depend if it’s a small house or an area with several structures. If we get an area with several structures, I want to put some npcs to make it “alive”. And yes, I want some npcs around my house.
