Rated BGs and Regular BGs require the same EXACT coordination on the SAME EXACT MAPS. Why penalize people who randoms vs rated? Rated and Random should drop the same gear, just drop rated BGs. That’ll force the people trying to get carried in randoms to participate to win or get booted.
“You are right that there’s a greater variety of traits available in PVE, but that could be fixed by making sure all secondaries are available within the choices on Conquest rewards.”
Agreed. Blizz wants to force us to play PVE which annoys the crap out of me. I just think if you’re doing Random BGs all day long to get the better gear (which takes 100 times longer than rated BGs or 2s/3s) then you should get the same level rewards. Especially to those who put a LOT of time and effort into randoms (coaching the teams, point out objectives, etc).
Couldn’t all that time and effort that is being put into the random BG’s be directed towards giving Rated PVP a go for the better gear you desire?

While I hear what you say… a) Finding a regular 2s/3s partner is hard and b) At this point in the game, my gear is so much worse than other people who have PVE’d that my win rate would be atrocious and it’d take just as much time.
What I am saying is we need an alternative to “PVEing to PVP”…and that doesn’t mean “You have to go scrounge up a team of players who you jell with”.
It seems Blizz has lost the concept that some people don’t want to be in groups but are FORCED to do so in order to compete. Again, same thing here: “Play the game as we TELL you to play it!” just doesn’t fly with me.
Time to find a new game I guess. 14 years wasted.
i agree, also do you wanna play rated? can always use players who have a desire to win on my team
No. Randoms are perfect as is.
Pretty much no, on Alliance, unless you are a healer. There’s occasionally a “low CR” group with a DPS opening, but not often enough to cap Conquest each week. The situation with rated battlegrounds is even worse.
Seen lots of yolo groups. It’s when you get to mid rating that there aren’t that many. But it’s easy to cap in yolos.
Even easier to cap in Arena.
I’m sure, just sticking to the bg theme.
@Eliise yes of course, but I don’t always have long periods of time to play. But yes, ping meh!
The difference would be when you lose in RBG you also lose rating. The ante is higher because the ante in randoms is nil. Playing rated -anything- should reward at a greater level.
By your thought process, arena skirms should be rewarding the same as glad level play, and that just tells me that you don’t understand competition.
WoW has always been about working in groups. That’s how MMOs should be. If you don’t like that maybe MMOs aren’t really for you.
Catering to solo mentality is what has damaged WoW and many MMORPGs of the past.
“Catering to solo mentality is what has damaged WoW and many MMORPGs of the past.”
That’s a really narrow minded view. Not everyone wants to go through the labor and effort to put a team together. Some of us have lives, families, work, chores, projects. We cannot sit around looking for groups.
You’re saying “WOW caters the game for people with no lives” which essentially means “Screw you people who actually HAVE a life”.
That’s absurd, stupid and a very bad way to run a business.
how hard is it to ask a guildie to do some 2v2’s with you?
Ah, that would explain why the recent expansions that try to force you into group PvP are so much more popular than the original game and early expansions where fun and interesting solo play was supported along side of the group PvE.
No, what i’m saying is, YOU -who doesn’t have time to sit around and get a group- should not be rewarded equally as someone who invests more than you and succeeds at a higher difficulty than you (rated play).
If you want to solo then go for it, that’s within your power and awesome that you can. You just need to understand that you will be reward accordingly for your efforts.
Yeah ppl who invest more time and effort into things should get more rewards, something given for free has no value.
Friend, i’ve played since the very first day of this game and i can tell you that while more solo friendly than the other games at the time… group play was necessary to get nearly anything done.
At the height of this game WotLK, group play was how you geared. In fact, as “welfare epics” began to be introduced the outcry was loud and the game started to decline and -never- recovered. (Talking subs as popularity)
Have to agree with Mag here, put in more effort, reap better rewards. That’s like saying you don’t have enough time to raid so you pop in to LFR when you can but then you expect the same gear.
Apparently I am out of likes for the day so for this post lol
