Whats with the massive gear gap in BGs?

So pretty much every game (as alliance) there has been a huge gear gap between alliance and horde. this goes for rated bgs, and normal bgs. Last game of Gilneas, my team was all below 120k hp, while horde avg around 150-160k, and only had 2 below 140khp.

sitting in this eye map, my team has nobody above 110k, and no horde are below 120. Whats up with this?

Like i know yall are just gonna say “well get gud lol” and while i get that, its just interesting that all of my games are like this.

Good chance priest buff + feast inflated the disparity. I’ve never seen a team with an average of 150khp in randoms.

but every game? i put down feasts most every match and theres always a priest or 2

my friend, it is because horde players are: :muscle::frog: while poor alliance players are: :fish::+1:

Amount of HP != power of the character this expansion.

Lesser geared character will do more damage against more geared characters, and more geared characters will do less damage to lesser geared characters, so it evens out. That’s how scaling works this expansion. There is slight bonus from gear, but it’s non-critical. I was in top 5 damage on my fresh 70k hp non aoe heavy alt.

The real problem is that the confusion like this exists. The heavy regulation like this scaling just confuses everyone and it’s worse than templates.

Spam the crap out of Warfronts and LFR or something. Gearing is super easy.

I hardly do anything in the game right now and I’m 360. Gearing has never been easier this early in an expansion.

Luckily gear doesn’t matter. If you’re losing lots, there are other reasons.

So are you saying you lose pretty much every game ? Or just stating that horde has more health ? I’m having a hard time trying to grasp what your intentions are for the post. Tbh

Even the devs say that gear gives a significant advantage. :stuck_out_tongue:

There are ways to exploit the system and it might not be as much of an issue for some classes, but in general gear is going to matter but your azerite powers make a bigger difference than straight up item level.

Not seeing this. Been on alliance teams that were undergeared but still won. Had this monk say he was a noob fresh 120, I told him he’d be fine and he did well! Was only 150k heals behind hordes top healer who was geared and also a mw…

I do a lot of 1v1s against different classes. It takes longer to kill a warlock with 160K health than it takes to kill a warlock with 90K health, just for an example.

Okay but 1v1 doesn’t matter for Bgs. Basically if your team loses, gear is the last reason.

1v1 doesn’t matter when I kill a solo defender and cap their node? It doesn’t matter when I 1v1 someone while I’m carrying an orb or a flag and go on to cap the flag? It doesn’t matter when I 1v1 someone in an AV mine and cap it for our team in a reinforcement battle?

Your experience is somewhat limited since you only play one class.

Not if the rest of your team are off doing their own thing. Only exception might be ctf maps and if you capped the last flag.

You honestly just don’t know what you are talking about here. A strong 1v1 class putting pressure on side objectives helps their team win.

Now, if I’m playing something like a warlock or a balance druid then I’ll stay near the big fights to spread pressure.

You are surely experienced at playing a warlock, but your overall experience is lacking and it really shows when you say something like “1v1s don’t matter.”

I’ve base sat and defended our base, even 1v1 but lost because the rest of the team couldn’t get a 2nd base. I have enough bg experience to know what wins and what doesn’t and right now it’s teamwork over gear. Now given equal skill, maybe then gear matters but we’re not talking Rated BGs.
