Whats with the massive gear gap in BGs?

Not entirely sure why blizz felt the need to change things from wod and under, the vendor system was perfectly fine it feels like it was changed just for the sake of change sometimes.

My guess is when there were PVP vendors, people PVE’d less. There are some elitist here, like me, that have absolute disdain for PVE and want to work and earn our gear in PVP. And like me, some people don’t have 24/7 to grind PVE to get their PVP gear.

They need to appease those of us who purely play the game for the PVP aspects and bring back PVP vendors AND the ability to use RANDOM BGs to earn gear based on individual efforts, not just “group” play.

Blizz puts too much emphasis on group play and very little to individuals who don’t want group play. WTB: 1v1 rated arenas!

I don’t know, I always queue solo, if there were a solo only queue, I think I wouldn’t use it as the other queue would mean I would often have a coordinated team on my side.

One of the dumbest things you’ve posted…and that’s saying a lot.

Everything i said was something you typed.

-You said you didn’t do warfronts for a CHANCE at gear.
-You complained about how hard it is to cap conquest. (Which now you amend by saying you have a dozen alts. That’s the price you pay when you play 12 characters.)
-You complain that better players who prove themselves through pvping against good players get better rewards than you because you pwn noobs in randoms.

For the record i only PVP and do WQ when waiting in Q. My gear is not exceptional but adequate to excel in PVP, certainly in randoms.

I am also in favor of vendors, and want them back. You might also recall that you couldn’t buy the best pvp gear without arena rank, and it scaled on the rating you had, 1800 and 2200.

-No one likes RNG that’s why subs are failing, currently.
-Fact is Wrath was the height of subs, and have never been higher, not Pandaria.
-Furthermore, PVP has never been easier for new players to do well, and gear matters so little in most cases you can enter as a fresh and do just fine.

Once again, you don’t get the rewards because you don’t do the content. To suggest otherwise is saying you want something, for something you didn’t do.

I actually do them, I was thinking of the Islands. But again I also mentioned on my feral I get one 370 item in every 6 runs or so, which is available every 2 weeks. You can do the math.

So is that Blizzards way of discouraging people from playing 12 characters?

You’re saying people that do random PVP matches aren’t proving themselves? That somehow if you’re in rated that means you’re better than people who choose random? PVP is PVP, just because it has the tag “rating” (which correlates to a score and nothing more) they deserve better? Maybe that’s the case, but being in rated vs random, it’s just as hard.

That’s all I do.

That would entice me to try and find a regular 2s partner. So we agree on something. But I don’t think its a bad idea to give individual rewards for random PVP for those who spend a lot of time doing them. If conquest would stop dropping randoms and let us CHOOSE which piece of gear we wanted that would solve a lot of issues.

Agreed.

Agreed.

I tend to disagree here. Someone in PVP with 340/345 weapons stands no chance against someone with 370-380 weapons. Trust me, I know.

No what I am saying it is requires the same time/effort/coordination to win random BGs as is does rated BGs. Absolutely no difference AND once you add in the fact that some people can join as a group into RANDOM BGs and steamroll people – and on a VERY rare occasion, lose to a random team (not group) that understands objectives, tell me what’s the difference between that and rated BGs?

My solution:

  1. Bring back vendors.
  2. Ban coordinated groups in random BGs.
  3. Remove voice in random BGs.
  4. Let people grind randoms to purchase gear if they decide they do not want to do rated.
  5. Leave the elite looks/sets/mounts for rated.
  6. Try to group randoms, if possible, by ilvl making sure no team has more healers than the others. That requires longer waits but more evenly matches the battles.

Nothing in this game is free. We ALWAYS pay with our free time, subscription, and micros.

The game just sets up an artificial power hierarchy intended to addict as many players as possible. In the end, they only care about people continuing to play.

People continue to play when they are having fun. Thus why BfA is losing subs so fast, too many players doing the activities and reward systems but they aren’t having fun.

Where are you seeing that they are losing so many subs?

I looked through Yahoo and I found data saying Blizzard is bleeding overall subscriptions, especially from their “King” series whatever that is, but nothing specific to World of Warcraft.

my god woman, you have 1200 posts since they swapped the forums within less than a week? You forum post during work or something?

No. 1k was transferred over. Answer the question.

down 65-70% from release, expecting the usual bump with the *.1 tier release in december

numbers mixed whether you factor paid subs vs ‘gold subs’ vs the free low level subs

been a huge drop, more than they expected

scoop is that the inside advanced skinner box training isn’t playing out as well as it was supposed to and there are some major design conflicts coming from the bliz team vs the activision team

sadly the micros have been blowing up, especially buying gold, which is making activision continue to override old-timer bliz design decisions

literally the only thing stopping activision from even more aggressive mechanics and micros, is lost subs that appear to be from blowback against those mechanics - which is constantly debated because activision says they are normal losses from a dying game but bliz thinks they could do better focusing on fun design rather than behavior modification.

wow, prolly shouldn’t have revealed this crap

Link please?

While i contend that what you say makes a lot of sense, it is impossible for me to take it at face value. Where’s your proof?

I saw that on Yahoo this morning.

KING = CandyCrush and those games.

WOW’s subs are dropping significantly. Not due to game content. There’s plenty of things content wise for PVErs to do.

It’s the PVP players that left. The template, the removal of PVP vendors, etc chased a lot of pure PVP players away. Blizzard hasn’t learned that lesson NOR do they really listen and/or care about what PVPers want. A fair, balance PVP game where we can earn rewards and choose what slot we want to fill.

The nail in the coffin was the RNG drops, removing the ability to fill slots you NEEDED with vendor trash because you already had that spot filled.

Stupid!

[/quote]I don’t really agree with this either. Still lots of pvpers out there. Ugh quoting mess up

I would like a source on that claim as well

It’s been posted here before, there was a link proving that a significant number of PVPers left for other games where they were more balanced. I’m fine with losing to someone with the same ilvl. Feces Occuri.

But when your gear is RNG and there’s no vendor you lose the ability to fill the slots you need to be competitive. I know people say there’s still a template, but 340 weapons are no match for someone with 370+ weapons. That’s a fact.
