What's with tabards

So systems that have been in place for 2, 4, and 8 years are JUST now bothering you? This isn’t something that’s been on your mind until now?

BFA is 2 years old. You’ve been doing the rep grind for 2 years now. Legion 4 year, and rep tabards haven’t been a thing for 8. Why is this just now all of a sudden an issue for you? lol.

The rep grind system between BFA and Legion isn’t different though. They carried over the same system to BFA that they had in Legion. The only difference is Mechagon.

Because I haven’t been doing it that long, actually. I don’t have flying unlocked, I have one allied race. I think it’s safe to say that I do not rep grind because of my experience in attempting to do Pathfinder for BFA.

This is also incorrect. You get 50 rep flat rate per world quest. I’m doing Legion content where it varies based on the “difficulty” I guess but that’s hard to gauge how hard it is now because I’m on a 120 character.

to show that you’ve put in the effort with the faction.

…just like it was originally.

Too bad the tabards look too nasty to want to wear to show you’ve put in effort.

It is to give you more of a reason to continue grinding out the rest of the rep beyond what the achievements require of you.

Only so many people farming mounts and battle pets. Have to ensure getting the Tmog people too.

People do not often tell the investors how they make the money. they just tell them the money was made.

Blizzard pads out game play. PLayers spend more to cover subs to achieve goals they report the profit from this to the investors.

The don’t tell the investors this was done by several means in a death by PowerPoint session on several game mechanics to prolong time played.

Investors don’t get minor side details. they get the results.

In BfA they added something that scribes can make called Contracts, that will give you reputation in a specific BfA faction every time you complete a World Quest in BfA content. So, if the WQ reward is faction then you get double I believe. Of corse you need to be level 120. Other than that, there is nothing but good ole grinding to increase your reputation, unless your a Human since their super power is Diplomacy, which increases all faction gains by 10%.

I love tabards. Best part when I got loremaster was getting my poo brown tabard. :grimacing:

its all about transmog now. rewards for doing things.

It would be nice if we could do the panda land thing though and click a star next to a faction *reputation we wanted to gain extra rep with.

BC had shoulder enchants connected to rep, too - like Aldor and Scryer. Wasn’t new to Wrath. Perhaps they were different in power relative to Wrath? (I didn’t raid during BC)

I’m like 3% sure I’m getting 75 per without a contract. There are no additional buffs active, I’m not on a human. I just tested it on a night elf, no contract. 75 rep with Order of the Embers in Drustvar.

…wat. I have no idea where this information is coming from, but none of my scribes have the ability, learned or unlearned, to make any contracts outside of BfA reps.

They were always exalted only items. They only weren’t for WotLK and Cataclysm.

2 to 3 weeks my butt. You are full of of it.

I liked championing. I liked the both the idea and the practical application.

However, I also like questing and am presently enjoying completing various daily quests from the Argent Tournament in Northrend to earn an Argent Hippogryph and from the Tillers in Pandaria because I am so entertained by the process of planning, planting, caring for, picking and cooking my own food in the game.

So personally I would like a mix. Quests until revered and then allowed the option of purchasing a tabard to champion the faction in dungeons, up to exalted.

And while we are on the subject, I would also appreciate it if an artist could:

  1. colour in all the old tabard icons from Outland and Northrend. They aren’t worth the bank space as white blanks.
  2. revamp the 3/4 view icons in Cata to full front like vanilla
  3. create a truly unique design/colour scheme/icon for the Tushui tabard
  4. have the tabard icons from Pandaria look like the tabards
  5. revamp worn tabards to look like tabards instead of tight t-shirts
  6. have the tabards show below the waist over robes and such

(edited for spelling/grammar/punctuation)

I have some mogs that benefit from the tabard top, but would look ridiculous if the flappy parts showed. I’d rather tabards have 2 mog options like the goblin heritage helmet.

I liked it better when the tabard was one of the first things you could buy and you could earn rep with it.
