What's with tabards

They need to bring back the MoP grand commendation system. That was the BEST. I don’t mind doing a rep grind, but don’t make me do the same rep grind over and over on every character.

Between questing getting you to halfway through Honored, Rep Contracts, Emissary Quests giving over a day’s worth of rep, and the monthlyish bonus rep week-long event, yeah, about 3 weeks.

The 2 was admittedly mostly for 7th Legion / Whatever the Horde version is, since it’s intentionally a faster grind for the War Campaign. (And that’s mostly without the extras, that one just goes fast, lots of WQs specifically for it).

Tabards originally were cosmetic rewards, not as a means to build reputation. Just look at tabards from Vanilla and BC.

I know. I’m not saying it was in the beginning. I was talking during Wrath, which is what the OP was referring to.

See?

It’s like 5% extra, not double. Contracts suck.

The World Quests for the Zandalari give you a flat rate of 50, I wouldn’t know about any of the alliance sided ones except for Legion.

God, that was amazing. You could buy a bonus for alts and on that alt you could “champion” it half-heartedly and earn extra rep on top of extra rep. MoP reps have me drooling.

The questing in most areas on the Horde side can get you maybe just into Honored, then you’re on your own for the rest of that to exalted. It takes reasonably longer than 3 weeks.

that was only a thing in Wrath and Cata. beforehand they were things you showed off because you took the time to reach exalted with that faction

I don’t see why people can’t be allowed to do both. Put a cap on rep earned in a day if it’s such an issue.

Tabards feel so pointless now unless you want tmog or achievements. And they cost 500g for that. Lame.

heh…yeah…that would be the case eariler in the game before rep apparently was THE grind in this game, LMAO.

Looks like we’re both wrong, at least per WowHead. They say you receive 10 reputation per WQ. So, its not a percentage, just a flat extra 10 reputation points.

Contracts

Contracts are a new system added in Battle for Azeroth. Using a contract for a specific faction makes it so that you gain 10 reputation for that faction every time you complete a world quest. Using the contract requires you to be at least Friendly with the faction.

Agreed 100%

If it were 50, a 50% buff would put me at 75, today, currently, no contract, correct? I just did a Zandalari WQ and got 113 rep. No other bonuses.

Edit; If you can show me which ones do, I’m happy to admit being wrong.

This one gave me 112. Still more than 50 + 50%.

A Zanda WQ giving me 113

A Talanji WQ giving me the exact same.

Zanda rep has never given me less than any other faction.

Regardless of difficulty, world quests award a flat 75 reputation before buffs.

That’s… how it’s been for the vast majority of the game

There’s a world quest event giving double this week.

The event gives an extra 50%, not double.

Honestly I could swear that early on the contracts gave way more rep than that and were nerfed into dust when they realized that we might not have to play as long.

Even so, War Mode on and that buff magically becomes 60%. Probably just felt like a lot more because I’ve been busy doing Argus world quests, which give quite a wonderful amount of rep.

Tabards giving reputation now would conflict with the world quest and paragon chest reputation design they implemented in Legion. Reputation isn’t one and done anymore, and being able to infinitely spam dungeons for reputation would conflict with that.

I can’t remember, but before I think it was a function of how much reputation you could earn in zone and how much you got doing the dailies. The supplemental reputation helped a lot then, but now the system is entirely different with the rewards from reputation and paragon chests.

You were wrong. Period. Zanda WQs don’t give 50 rep. They never have that I’ve seen. I have no idea what WQs you’re doing that you’re only getting 50, but I get 75. No WM. No contracts. No event buffs. Otherwise, event or no event, Talanji and Zulda would be giving different rep amounts when other modifiers are applied. And they’re not.

A WQ with a reward being recorded as 75. If you’re still going to insist it’s 50, I hope the people reading this thread are taught otherwise and don’t listen to your false claims.

All right, even 75 is super low, though. 25 over 50 isn’t going to change what I’m talking about and you know this. 75 doesn’t mean I’m not wrong about the topic at hand, it just means I remembered incorrectly. I’ve never done a Legion WQ that’s given me under 100, for comparison.
