You’re putting your own headcanon above player agency. Player agency dictates that right now there technically isn’t anything actually stopping any other race from joining the Illidari. At this point, it has as many lore barriers for each race as becoming a Warrior or Hunter. All they have to do is hand in their application, and survive the ritual- that is objective. The rest? Like “they wouldn’t feel like it” or “they have no need for any new Demon Hunters right now” is totally subjective.

The fact we don’t want you? But seriously, people need to remember that the Elves didn’t just one day become DHs because it looked like fun. They were desperate broken people who were seeking the power to fight back against the Legion and most that underwent the ritual to become a DH died or went crazy in the process. Right now there is no driving need for more DHs, as the Legion isn’t a threat at this point. Perhaps is they come back and Illidain rejoins the ranks, then they might seek out others who want the power to fight back.

We killed Velen son, and yes he was sad anyone would be but his son was pure evil, all the Eredar are pure evil, untill they find away to purge the fel from them and turning them into Dreanei, there is no solution other then eliminating them
Um, you are are aware that Eredar is the name of the species yes? The Manari are specifically the Fel-Eredar as Manari means “twisted and unnatural” in Draenic, the Draenei (the playable group of Eredar) are named such as the word Draenei means “Exiles”.

Void and fel don’t get along you can’t have a void elf demon hunter.
Realistically the races open to being one is small, you have to have a body that can withstand the damage being done by the demon, that means you aren’t going to be having vulpera and gnomes (people forget how strong kaldorei are, and the bloodelves are so innately attuned that magic can help them there) regardless of your hatred for humans and they don’t actually have access to everything there is no druids or shamans (Kultiran aren’t pure human, nor are worgen)
The only real acceptable races for it are
Kaldorei
Shal’dorei
Orcs
Humans
Bloodelves
Trolls
Tauren
Kultiran
Draenei
And since everyone is tired of elves at this point the logical choice is orc and human
Tauren are excluded due to being abhorrently against fel magic, an excuse could be made for the feltotem but realistically it’s too thin a line.
Draenei are excluded due to religious zealotry and cultural identity
Void elves are void infused and before you argue that they are warlocks there is a very big difference between mixing void and fel magic in something compared to using fel magic in general.
Also keep in mind the legion is dismantled, demons are very much still a problem so there will always be a need for demon hunters the need is just very small currently.
Also 3 out of every 5 die to just the introduction to having a demon shoved inside of you that you then also have to constantly resist and overpower or you y’know explode
The Burning Legion will be back at some point. Theirs probably ideas in the works given they stated we should be worried if the Red Star in the sky ever disappeared.
At that point I’d expect them to open up Demon Hunter’s to other races.
perhaps, but I must disagree on your Kul’tiran statement as they are in fact, as far as we know, pure blooded humans. That whole “part drust” was a fan theory that was actually debunked by Blizzard themselves in an interview (think the reason they initially gave is that they are monster hunters or some bunk).
Honestly I don’t think currently there are any other races that can realistically become demon hunters, as most of the ones you listed, as you said, are culturally against all things fel, or might not be up to the task (I mean apparently fel orcs were incapable so I’m not sure baseline orcs stand much more of a chance) though given their track record, if theres two races they’d hand demon hunters to, its humans and orcs . . . cause ya know “face of the faction” and all (much to my own dismay).
This entire thread is even funnier now that Tauren Rogues are official. Moral of the story? Literally anything is possible if the designers and writers will it to be so. Can’t say for sure how long it’ll be, but all of the other denizens of Azeroth becoming Demon Hunters are definitely next lmao.
THe legion is gone, like the scourge there are still some far reaching vestiges, but nothing that warrants mustering more forces and more pain into this particular situation, like honestly, Sargeras the puppet master, and all of the major players dead, of the entire legion is locked away with illidan for eternity, it has been clearly stated to be the end of the burning legion as a whole.
Similar to the LK, but heck the scourge is more prevalent than the freaking legion at this point in time, so no, its not just headcanon, its actual canon at this point.
What you’re trying to do is create reason out of thin air for something that needs no reason cause there is no problem outside of the few people who want to make it a problem. Stop it.
Yet again to iterate, The burning legion, who is gone, and Illidan, who is also now gone, were the creators behind the demon hunters, and mostly Illidan, who forbade other races from even attempting to become demon hunters because 4/5 died and he deemed elves the only races capable of even having the slim chance to survive. He had zero interest in training any non elf race after that fact. And not just any freaking current demon hunter can just come up and be…hey you wanna sacrifice everything? I know a cool ritual…no they can’t, illidan was the only capable one as far as we know on the entirety of azeroth of doing so.
Nothing to promise yet, but they want to work towards a place where race isn’t a limiting factor. But the timeline is something they’ll have to be flexible on. A lot of the classes have a lot of content and lore requirements like for Paladin and Warlock.
In 10.0 Rogues, Mages and Priests available for all races.
Your point being? Rogues Mages and Priests, like stated in the quote, are some of the most generic possible classes that anyone with any inclination could theoretically mange to become, unlike some others who ARE limited, and for the foreseeable future will STAY limited as they should.
