What will happen after naxx? naxx will get farmed and then eventually we will either get a TBC server to Xfer to or we will just indefinitely continue playing vanilla content.
The important thing to me is they don’t wipe a Vanilla character’s progress, period.
I’m cool with this outcome.
I do not believe blizzard will do that ever again, these servers are going to stay up, and they will stay vanilla, if anything they will offer an Xfer or a character copy to a TBC server.
Most likely, a stasis server, Maybe a server reset, launch of TBC as well as another launch for classic servers.
PLEASE don’t offer “server reset” as an option. I’ve had enough of Blizzard thinking bad ideas are good ones. looks at the WoD flight bait-and-switch
That too.
Really? You really don’t see why? You seriously can’t think of one reason players would be opposed to server resets? Not even just one reason?
I basically feel the same, meaning that I think Naxxramas will need at least a year for players to feel like they have had time to clear it. Even then, I expect kind of the bottom tier of casual raiders to not get past the easier bosses. So be it.
I do like the question itself though, because there are so many things you could bring to Classic as follow-on raid content without changing the game.
Karazhan, Caverns of Time, Zul’Aman all seem like they could be level 60 raids. Not necessarily even just for the elite hardcore types either.
Karazhan was supposed to be a 60 raid! Except in the past it was referred to as “Medivh’s Tower”. Why do you think Ateish was the last legendary and it ports you to Karazhan? Why do you think the 2nd to last boss in naxx drops shoulder enchants? Perhaps in order to gear up for another raid tier?
Unfortunately it never made it into the game AND blizzard then used it to justify their next expansion which they basically BLEW UP the lore with.
I personally hated Outland.
Unpopular opinion, I know. Here’s another unpopular opinion: I found Draenor to be more fun and interesting than Outland.
grabs a shield and hides behind it
It truly is a shame that we had to wait until WoD to see Dreanor in all of its glory. I bet there are a TON of things blizzard would do differently if they could go back in time, I highly doubt TBC would still be the second expansion.
Awww, but that is a good Sean Connery Movie.
Gentlemen… Welcome to THE ROCK
I don’t think you understand how long its going to take people to clear naxx. If you did you wouldn’t be making this post.
It will take a LONG, LONG time for the vast majority of players to even get themselves ready to raid in Naxx, much less clear a wing of it. Sure, the uberguilds will blast through content fast, but they will be the tiny minority.
It’s so early to try any speculation ( albeit fun to try ). What will happen? Will we have the option to progress into TBC? Will we have an option to vote? ( A few of Everquest’s progression servers worked this way ) Will we be locked in forever? Lot’s of people like this option as well. I have also seen lot’s of people clamoring for more content. ( Again, nothing is completely off the table at this point )
What I do know for sure is, Classic is coming and we will have at the very least content up to and through Nax. After that? There is just no way to tell at the moment. I suspect after a few months or even a year the picture may become much more clear. Enjoy the ride )
Honestly I think people are overestimating Naxx a little bit, its not going to be like it was in 2006. I am not saying that its going to be full cleared EZ MODE by every guild, but it will 100% be completed by a vastly larger amount of people than it was before.
We know the strats, we know what gear we need, and best of all, our internet doesn’t suck.
The timing is also much more favorable this time around. Last time, TBC was about to launch and many people decided to not even put in the effort to progress through Nax. ( It’s a shame really, fun raid )
