Real talk I canât remember my 1st anime but my favs are
Inuyasha, cowboy bebop, full metal alchemist, trigun, samurai shamploo, parasyte maxim, gargantia on the verdurous planet (lot of ppl donât know about this gem), alucard, and gintama. Ofc DBZ is a classic but its trash now imo
I grew up with bleach, naruto, one piece etc but honestly they have way too much filler and their first seasons are usually amazing then go trash real quick like 99% of the anime being the scene panning or pointless reaction/talk scenes that take forever.
The most recent anime that is actually good so far that Iâve seen in the last idk how many years has been jujutsu kaizen.
As for scarring me, ONE of the first anime I watched was chobits and I forced myself to go through the whole thing because back then downloading on limewire took for days and half the time was full of viruses. Basically this beta is falling in love with a robot and it confirmed I am not a weeb or have any interest in anime romances. WTB action!
I got annoyed with how Naruto just went from all this ninja strategy fights and all to just full on super powers and spamming the same move over and over.
Yep, usually first seasons are strategic combat and make sense, same exact thing happened with bleach and in later seasons ichigo is just using his getsuga tensho literally 9000 times and it just fails every time but he keeps repeating it LOL.
One piece is good with fights, if it wasnât 99% filler, luffy might be dumb but he employs strategy.
So this is going to get me made fun of big time but at this point I donât care.
My first was Vampire Knight.
Har-de-har laugh all you want, yes, the ending is the worst ever and makes me despise it a lot.
Soul Eater is something I love, I guess it also has a bad ending, but I like the meat of the lore the most, and the characters (not Blackstar, Stein is my fav 
)
Hellsing Ultamite is one I enjoy a lot, well, the beginning and end. The middle dragged on without Alucard there though.
And if Castlevania counts (Netflix), that one is my current favorite.
Oh these were the days. I would either gamble on Limewire or find FTP servers from sub-groups. But Limewire was so worth it to find subtitled versions of the Dragon Ball Z movies as small .rm (Real Media) files.

Dont know much of it but yeah i heard it was terrible.
Read the manga, its considerably better, the anime went and did its own thing and it wasnt on the same level, not even close.

I forgot about soul eater, loved maka and her spirit dude. Black star is the best though, too bad the ending was garbage cuz it deviated from manga. It was so long ago but I donât even think they finished the story in anime. At least we got black star vs samurai guy fight
OH by the way I totally forgot my currently favorite anime⌠idk why, could be the beer, but seven deadly sins is the BEST action anime in recent years.
Idk i think Attack on Titan is really good on its actions scenes.
