As I said the difference is it strongly encourages guilds to try to poach those who are already attuned instead of trying to gear and attune someone new.
Regardless of how it should work that’s how it actually worked in practice.

Nah it depends on your server, pouching ALMOST never happend on smaller servers or at least the two i played on since it was a bad name. Y’know Turncloak and all that jazz ya? Maybe that happend with you though so i think we’ll just agree to disagree. You also didn’t answer my former question.
Attunements will totally make poaching worse. Like was already said, now you can grab a fresh 60 and have them ready to contribute in, what, maybe two weeks (tanks being the only possible exception)? That goes away with attunements. I seem to remember poaching being a big complaint on the forums during TBC. I haven’t seen anybody really complain about it in Classic.
Happens all the time in classic. But again that’s a server problem, or a player made problem. Why are you gearing people / or want people in your guild who only lust after pixels and have no integrity to there friends and comrades who got them it in the first place Negald?
Nothing at all. Just like Classic.
Sure on small servers with only 1 or 2 end game guilds it’s not an issue. That’s not the case on large servers.
Agree to disagree Zi, Grob’s pretty big and we know people who are turncloaks problems etc. and they get exiled. Again playermade problem has playermade solutions JUST LIKE PVP!
Correct, 100%, its perception that’s godly because of druids because stealth is a powerful ability in an opener and if you can straight hard counter it you can easily tip the balance of the match into your favor.
will be interesting to see how that plays out, I was only pointing out that paladin cant print money in TBC like a mage could in Vanilla or classic at 60 pre-nerfs.
Could be just how different teams are different, we had one per group.
Right, that’s now in an attunement free situation. With attunements the top guilds actively encourage poaching because it’s in their best interest as well.
Perhaps I’m wrong, but Classic has taught me that this player base is usually going to take the path of least resistance. What do you think is easier for a guild progressing through T6, poaching a fully T5 geared tank from another guild , or attuning and gearing a fresh 70?
Not at all, if Shaka Zulu tells Bob not to leave his guild with all the loot he got with The Zulu’s and Bob does, Zulu will Tell Joe the GM of the guild Bob Leaves to “Howdy Joe, That here Bob ain’t the best kinda folk. Took Thundercats sword then left us.” Joe, will go “OH MY GOODNESS! My good Sir. How dare he such filth IN MY CLAN? IMPOSSIBLE” That will then force Bob to find a redemption ark and learn how allowing greed to sway into joining a guild is wrong.
You’re not wrong! But are you part of that playerbase? Again that’s a Player made problem. I stand on principles. If that tank is seriously leaivng the guild he’s in and he got T5 geared with them. THat guild has a MUCH MUCH larger problem I mean that’s a tank my man. They’re the heart of a guild haha.
I’m sure some would maybe most. I wouldn’t, and i will make or join a guild that shares my view as i did in classic.
The Shaka Zulu’s in the attunement system in TBC are the ones encouraging people to guild hop.
Okay, I get what you’re saying. But the question was what would be a problem in TBC. Guild poaching may not be a problem for you personally, but it will be for much of the player base.
Sadly that’s just how the game will be it’s always been that way or min-maxing neck beards and there’s quite a lot more then there were back in the day. It won’t ruin the game though. Do attuments make people more likely to get pouched? Yes, but on the same token you could argue that a guild willing to go back and help you get attunment is a guild you want to stay with till the end.
We’ll see it’s also possible that like in classic people will just be blowing through TBC content anyways and it won’t be a big deal.
Agreed i think people will get stuck on the notables Kael / Vashj / IC and sunwell. But besides that? Eh i mean people are pugging C’thun, Blizzard is going with full nerfed content i feel. It’s easyier to do that since everyone will stay play it.
Don’t like attunements? Wait for Wrath.
That will depend on the tuning of the content. If it’s end patch then I think you’re paranoid over nothing. And it’s a player problem. Not a content aka attunement problem. I
The TBC meta will be alot more open as enforced diversity is required to make a solid raid.
You need 4 locks, 1 needs to be aff for imp CoE.
You need atleast 2 hunters, 1 needs to be deep SV for the debuff they bring.
You need atleast 3 paladins for buff coverage, debuff coverage.
You need atleast 2 warriors for debuff coverage and tankage.
ETC ETC etc.
TBC WILL have a meta, but atleast some people will get to play what they want instead of being forced to play a warrior/mage/rogue/priest.
Why? Chances are we’ll get end patch TBC with no attunements.
