I’ve been to that point, it’s NOT enjoyable to be out of work, “choice” has nothing to do with it… just because they LIKE work doesn’t mean it’s not a choice… even in real life people who go long periods without meaningful things to do go just a little off… notice the Forgelite says LONG periods of time without work… meaning we’re not really talking like a day or such, maybe even not a week.
See, the thing is, these afterlives don’t just get random souls. The people who are sent to Bastion are supposed to be hand-picked for their singular devotion to duty and service. The fact that half of them are revolting means that the Arbiter has been busted for a LONG time, not just when she stopped functioning altogether. Personally, I find the story compelling because I was a big fan of Bleach in its heyday and the second season had a very similar plot of mortals running amok in the pristine afterlife making them question their rigid traditions while dealing with an uprising from traitors within their highest ranks.
Seems reasonable to me.
That’s not true.
You’re so close to almost being there.
You’re right. It’s not a choice. Choice has nothing to do with it at that point.
Just because they like work doesn’t mean it was a choice. Remember, they were created to like work! Their own brain is coercing them into doing what their creator wants.
So they were created to work? Great so are most things…you seem to be ignoring several facts purposefully… notably A: most sentient things need a purpose inherently and B: the Forgelite said LONG periods…as in the Kyrians basically have jobs and functions and said jobs and functions give their existence purpose. the TLDR being they CHOOSE to do their jobs, slavery is involuntary… the Kyrians themselves are not forcing them to do anything.
But it is.
The good guys do some really bad things in this game. Shades of gray and stuff.
Not any of the awful things in that list though.
You have to crack a few eggs to make an omelette.
Both the Horde and Alliance had slaves. The Alliance forced Pandas in MoP to work for them. The Horde have used biological weapons.
The player characters.
Have you seen my battle pet tab?
Omelette…yum. With cheese and those chopped little green onions.
No because not eating will kill you quite literally. Not serving just makes them depressed. They don’t NEED service to live, just to feel happy.
Man that sounds good right about now…
Not necessarily, pay close attention to the Alliance side of this quest, several adult Pandaren mention they were “paid” to build a war fort…just that they didn’t know it was a fort… dishonest employment maybe, but still employment not slavery. This is also witnessed by the Horde player, meaning no bias is present to twist facts.
Horde did, Horde was wrong for it. Aliiance did not.
No they didn’t. The Alliance asked for help without realizing the Pandaren weren’t used to putting in a full day’s work and were too polite to ask to go home.
You literally “save” them just by telling them it’s ok to leave, and the Alliance does nothing to stop them because it’s ok for them to leave.
The Forsaken had biologicall weapons, and literally everyone had a problem with it.
What in the world makes you think the players will always be the god guys and everything they do is fine?
Because we are the heroes.
As if us over on Azeroth are any better… Literally World of Warcraft is a game that promotes and is based on Racism. Literally the factions of WoW go to war due to their racist beliefs and wanting to put down, discriminate, and subjugate or kill the races that aren’t like them.
Even within the factions themselves, there’s racism between the various races, especially with races like Elves who view all other races as inferior, constantly talk down to or talk trash of the lesser races, etc.
Not to mention the literal instances of slavery and genocide of various races that has been throughout warcraft lore.
Then to add on top of this, the Shadowlands are very racist as well as in most parts, they literally force souls to convert into human-like avatars/appearances, especially for the unique standout races of the Horde such as the Tauren, literally forced to conform and are turned into humans.
