I have an open ticket but want to know what type of support can be offered to me. My guild was doing ICC 25 man last night in wotlk and after killing first boss the second boss bugged and the door shut making it unable to retry. I can only assume it will be fixed however the guild has decided to raid on Sunday and complete the rest then. I’m unable to attend that date meaning I’m stuck in a lockout I cant complete due to no fault of my own. Had i known that it was going to bug I wouldnt of gone and found a raid doing it a different day.
If blizzard cant remove me from this Raid ID what other sort of support or compesation? I believed we paid a suscription service so people could offer us a premium service and on live servers not encounter massive bugs like this?
Raid IDs are hands off by the GMs. That the bug happened was unfortunate, but they can’t help that your raid group is going back in when you are unable to. The raid ID will reset as usual I. Tuesday. There isn’t anything they can do to alter that or “reset” it for you.
And as for compensation? You pay to access retail servers. That’s it. The game is playable, you’re not being denied that access. The bug is very unfortunate but there just isn’t anything they can do about it or the raid ID.
I’m sorry it’s not what you want to hear, but hopefully next week will be a better one for you.
Now, there may have been a way to make the dungeon reset in a case like this - but it does take some patience and time.
Everyone has to be out of the instance for a min of 20 minutes, and they’ll usually reset. If anyone stays inside, or logs out inside that can interfere with the timer resetting.
We waited 30 minutes and it still didnt work, and I find it infurtating that Blizzard is unwillinging to assist for an ingame issue. My issue would not exisit if the game was not at fault.
If it’s a bug causing the original problem it would have to be reported and verified. You can do that through the in game bug and suggestion tool. Or the bug report forum. So hopefully it won’t happen again at the next attempt.
I mean myself and others have reported it via in game and support tools and noticed others having the same issue, and its not a new issue either. I just find it crazy a multi billion dollar company doesnt have the ability or the willingness to fix issues, its fine things break but make good dont just say sorry bad luck try again next time.
Gonna be frank: Not everything is gonna be fixed, let along for something that is able to fix itself to a degree. More so when it falls under a rule they already have - not touching raid IDs already - there isn’t much they can do.
I realize that back in 2004/05 ish time frame there are interactions with GMs who entered games, interacted with the players, and assisted with some things right on the spot. Even that was rare, and those days are long long gone. They don’t interact directly in real time with players, much less enter the game anymore because they have tools that don’t require it. They don’t fix individual bugs in real time, esp not raid related issues. You might see something different in an Alpha or Beta where they Devs are running a real time play test and monitoring, but not in the live game.
You can read a lot more about what GMs can do, or not do, here. It might help with your expectations.
I can appreciate that, but its not like the cost of WoW has gone done with the limited support. I’m not asking them to fix the raid ID just remove my charecter from it. Since the only solution for me is ruining the experience for 24 others by doing the raid before Sunday which is against what the game stands for.
I should not be punished due to a lack of resource/capibility due to a game bug and my real life schedule ? If someone explains why I should be punished due to those two things I’ll let it go, but no one has given a valid reason other than “GM’s cant do that” yet they can break the game to support a HC classic duel contest? Sorry I think they can but don’t want to set a precedent.
It has not gone up since 2004 either, despite inflation going way up. Nor did did it go up when they stopped doing all day Maint like the old days. More game time, less down time, same old cost.
It sort of works out. However, what you are asking for was never a service they offered. They have never reset raid IDs.
Support is still the same! They do not offer a bunch of services with more automated actions, Like character restore and item restoration that used to require a gm to do it for you.
They do answer tickets now with form responses as many of the quests are very similar in nature and can be answered with a rewritten reply. That helps save time to be able to help more people.
Also remember this is one of the few games that if you get hacked that the company will go out of their way to help! A lot of companies will tell you sorry that happened but they will not help fix your issue.
Only you’re not being punished for anything. I should also note it’s mentioned that the game is offered on an as is basis meaning there will always be bug’s.
I should also mention bug’s are fixed depending on severity for example the corrupted blood incident that took place in September and October of 2005. All in all game breaking bugs have the highest priority where the lesser priority bug’s are shelved for a time until a fix can be patched in.
Simple answer? Life isn’t always fair. Thats really it. It sucks when it happens to you but life goes on. Your character isn’t irreparably damaged, you didn’t lose items or your account. It sucks you lost a chance at gear but more will come. Sometimes things just don’t go your way, no matter if it was your fault or not.
And not wanting to set a precedent over something that has never been done ever is a perfectly valid reason, whether you agree or not.
Because if they do it for you they have to do it for everyone, and they are not going to do that. If they wanted raid ID’s to be able to be unlocked and changed, they wouldn’t be designed the way they are.
