What requested ideas do you hate most on these forums?

If a gnome can be a priest and a warrior, why can they not be a Paladin? I want to know this. I want to know this now.

High Elves.

The idea that if you aren’t playing the game like a second job, you’re playing it wrong, because this is a game, and games aren’t supposed to be fun.

Adding Ogres, Murlocs, Naga as playable races despite the fact that we fought and killed them and they are the enemy races that serve evil purposes and have killed us a noobs.

  1. WoW is still the best MMO out there.

Nope. WoW if released today without it’s history would get smoked because of how one-dimensional it is with regards to replability. If you’re not M+, PvP, or Raiding you’re not playing.

  1. No changes should be made to how endgame operates.

Sometimes there’s an argument to be made about letting a item stay as close to the original as possible Classic Coke, American-Pizza, and charleston chew. Those are items I don’t want changed. Ever. But WoW as a game is severely lacking when it comes to innovation with regards to both it’s RPG elements, and it’s Multiplayer elements. The game thinks that it’s just too complex to have any type of hard mode finder. It’s not. The game claims that the end game is what players go through the most. It’s not.

While this is going on other gaming studios who are younger than Blizzard are figuring out how to connect people and have players share experiences without having to navigate a third-party website, or having to try and run a treadmill to find a group you like. Blizzard compared to the other games is just not great. In fact they’re sub-par compared to other games. They just have history going for them.

  1. Call for more Races

Kinda like repainting the lifeboats on the titanic. What you’re going to add Ogres for the Horde then give the Alliance the crazy flying griffon dwarves as a race? Come on now.

Typically–similar to my politics- I find conservative opinion to be lacking any critical thought or even attempt to try and change to better the current situation. The WoW community is no different than that.

That speech in the WoW Forums is protected under the First Amendment. It is not.

WoW has been Dungeons, Raids and PvP… with tons of mini-games. It was like that since Vanilla. Shadowlands still has it.

Mini-games which are usually quests are all over the PvE-World. These are usually solo-able. And if players doesnt do M+, doesnt do PvP and doesnt do Raid, what’s left to do? Yup, World Questing solo. And you want World Questing Solo to have its own progression towards ilevel 226-230?

Solo is the easiest. 5-man is harder. Multiple people Raids is the hardest. And you want solo progression? Nobody would do 5-man and nobody would do Raids if the loot they could get can be done in Solo. Mythic Raiders can solo too. Sorry, no solo progression to get Mythic Raiding quality loots. If you want to progress, do 5-man dungeons then do raids.

The game is replayable. If your Mythic Raiding main toon has reached its ceiling, you could make an alt and progress it too like your main. But for noobs, for some reason their main toon stopped after few days after reaching max level and refuse to do dungeons. They dont want to do dungeons becoz they cant. What else to do? The World Quest cant keep them playing. What do you want to do? There are Battle Pets. You could collect Hunter pets. You could collect Mounts. You could collect Mogs and Toys. Shadowlands has it. Compared to ESO and FFXIV, WoW is still way superior… and therefore, still the best MMO right now.

Sub-par? Please give me the names of those games where WoW is sub-par to so I could switch to them.

Not changing systems because everything is fine and “the whiners would ruin the game.” Every system has issues and through gameplay we get to experience those issues. Pretending that there isn’t a real issue with the alliance player pool vs horde player pool, covenant accessibility, and classes balance in the sense that some classes inherently have required raid utility and some classes don’t but both do the same damage/healing/tanking so the latter classes are despised and avoided.

Everyone that thinks they should be a class can suck it

I.E. anyone who isn’t so enamoured by melee they refused to admit melee SV has been a spectacular failure.

It really does say a lot how the crux of your argument isn’t about the merits of it being melee in the first place but rather it would be too much work to undo it.

With melee SV being such a dumpster fire it’s 100% worth undoing.

For Legion’s content they really don’t need a perfect solution especially now that it’s optional content most of the playerbase will never see. They can literally just duplicate the MM questchain for SV if they want to do it with minimal effort; or tack on some lore and RP to the end of the existing SV chain that means SV gets some token ranged weapon instead. It’s not like there’s any lore integrity here to begin with. The entire Huln Highmountain/Talonclaw story was conjured up in Legion with 0 lore precedent to retroactively justify Survival Hunter; before then he was only a character in the books and he had 0 identifying characteristics of being a Hunter. So it’s not like they’re undoing any important/meaningful lore if they change it.

For the appearances: it’s a good thing next to no one played Survival in Legion so you’re really not looking at a large pool of players being affected. Again, there are workarounds. Give all Hunters access to a cosmetic melee weapon and Wing Clip for the roleplayers who want that melee flavour. Make a talent in the BM spec called Rexxar’s Path (abbreviates to RP; very fitting) that swaps out ranged attacks like Cobra Shot and Barbed Shot for melee ones like Raptor Strike and Lacerate in exchange for a damage and health boost. That would be a way better compromise than devoting 1/3 of the class to less than 1/20 of its playerbase, and lord knows melee Survival just copies BM’s pet identity most of the time anyway. They could even allow the artefact appearances to be used by other classes on the same account.

I fully understand that sniveling imbecile Celestalon pushed for melee Survival in Legion in particular because he knew it would take work to revert it should it (predictably) bomb. That doesn’t mean we’re locked in to this garbage. Keeping it in this state for so many years is much worse than ripping off the bandaid. There is zero reason to keep it melee at this point other than pride.

Is that how we do class design now? Catering to every whim of melee roleplayers? It wasn’t enough that melee lovers got every new DPS spec added to the game post launch but now we have to steal away popular ranged specs because some hyper-specific melee niche hardly anyone wants wasn’t adequately fulfilled? Just look at how specific you had to be there to make sure it wasn’t already covered by one of the twelve other melee weapon users in the game.

The 3 ranged Hunter specs were important because nothing else in this game represents ranged weapons. It was valuable to have that level of exploration into the archetype. Beast Mastery doesn’t focus on the ranged weapon all too much to begin with, so it made sense to at least have 2 other specs to provide different approaches to ranged weaponry. The notion that we should cram the entire archetype into 1 spec (MM) just so melee Hunter roleplayers could get their fix is utterly absurd. Once again, we shouldn’t be devoting 1/3 of the class to less than 1/20 of its playerbase.

Anything involving High Elves.

Not from here, but the PvP forums.
Additional cosmetics for above 2400.
.5% isn’t exclusive enough? Stop encouraging more boosting, holy hell.

Dark Rangers;
Sunwell. The Blood Elf secondary theme is Light.

A Mythic+ queue. I guarantee the amount of complaints about no queue will rapidly quadruple into “the content is too hard!” overnight.

Anything that can be solved by the player making their own choices.

If we implemented everything General Discussion wanted into this game the game would literally die.

When people say they have an idea for a new class, and their idea is “Dark Ranger” or “Necromancer”. Then when they express their ideas for the classes, they are about as deep as a puddle, and are mostly abilities other specs/classes have already.

At best they could be a Appearance MOG for MM hunter and Demo Lock.

The removal of flying.

It’s as good an argument as any considering Blizzard is selectively lazy and reverting it at this point would be admitting they messed up, which they’re often recalcitrant to do.

Yeah, that’s what they’ll do; change an old questline so that the reward you got at the end when it was current is replaced with a generic bow from Cata or MoP.

Really insistent on this “only a miniscule fraction of the playerbase plays it, so it doesn’t matter to the people who do like it if it’s suddenly gone one day” narrative.

They’ll also definitely do this for one artifact out of 36 and leave the rest unchanged.
I’m done derailing this thread.

I’ve seen so many bad pitches from GD, many of them covered in my first post. I think for a lot of people here, their ideal vision for the game involves 60+ races but 10 of them dominate the others, no more race/class/faction limits, and housing that players spend more time decorating than playing real content.

I don’t get why people demand this, either.

The idea I hate the most is the removal of content cuz “I don’t like it, so nobody should be able to enjoy it”.
