Giving new players at 60 âeven better gearâ for a sense of progression
That idea is completely backwards, what they need to do is LOWER the ilvl of covenant gear.
You get to 60 do your covenant quests and BOOM youâre 197 - 200 ilvl.
Your options for PvE gearing is now either do M+ or Raid.
Why would anyone in their right mind start from M0 or LFR raids (other than going in to get your lego recipe)? Why would you when you get downgrades from the content.
This drastically reduces the amount of time the new players need to get to the âcasual capâ also it takes the opportunity away from new players to learn the dungeons/raids in the easiest environment.
When the expansion first started the players geared from 130 ilvl and was able to experience all the content and received upgrades every step of the way. This experience was invaluable and a huge confidence booster going into the higher keys.
You can watch as much youtube guides as you want but you donât gain the experience unless you do the content.
So many people that are âboredâ or âgatekeptâ from getting higher ilvl gear because they literally hand out free gear that outscales the content you are suppose to do to get the gear.
These new players will try and get into M7+ keys because logically it make sense. They will either get absolutely stomped by the content or flat out rejected by every single group because lack of experience and/or low io score.
There just isnât enough players wanting to do m0-m6 because their fresh 60 can outgear that content by simply doing a few quests. This leads to the common complaint on GD of raider is toxic or give casual a way to gear for âprogressionâ, these people donât care for the highest ilvl gear they just want a sense of âprogressionâ
