what if you are lvl 51 or so in AV and do not do much damage or healing, should I be expecting a 2 week ban ?
AV is my favorite battleground and the only reason I even queue them, and I can tell you that running with the team, under no circumstances, will leave you with anywhere close to zero damage or healing, even if the match lasts for five minutes. There are NPCs everywhere, and Dun Baldar is loaded with them. Even if you don’t see a single player the whole game, there are plenty of NPCs to damage and heal from.
There is no reason to have no activity in any BG, least of all Alterac Valley, and even less so for numerous matches, regardless of the team’s strategy. The only way you can achieve this is by deliberately not trying or doing absolutely nothing.
Been running AV for close to 15 years with the rush drek strat, I am VERY interested on how you stay out of combat in the rush and why you aren’t helping take towers or killing horde stragglers coming into the FWRH to try and retake it/wipe the drek pull.
You are either VERY wrong or an insane outlier in that BG.
Idontknowhow and Karkasy are correct here. It is pretty much impossible to not get some dmg/healing done in classic AVs, even when doing whatever the ‘meta’ is, if you are actually playing the BG. Try throwing some hots and dots as a druid. Or go kitty and chomp, chomp.
Good luck on your appeals.
So… you’re AFK’ing for the entirety of the BG, and don’t understand why you’re being punished for non-participation?
Currently non-participation is 14 days.
RMT as buyer is 14 days… And also removal of gold, any items and gear. That is the first tier too. A sample case: Blizzard Recouped My Gold
I wouldn’t call it equivalent penalty, only the time duration is the same. Bit harsh ofcourse, for first time AFK/Non-P but people have been shouting at Blizzard to do something about it even when its legitimate tactics x) AV used to last weeks and epic boss summonings but we’re past that time nowadays even in Classic versions.
Sellers get instant ban.
To those conflating the issue in this thread: Even if you don’t end up doing any damage or healing in a match, I’m 99% sure they still compare that to how much time in the match was spent standing still in a corner or something. Even if you’re guarding a tower, you’re still 99.9% likely to stay moving around and checking for incoming threats. The system probably even adds weights to things like defending, since those kinds of systems are already in the game for scoring/honor in some modes and defending objectives are expected gameplay behaviours.
Basically, I’m pretty positive they also keep track of input and movement activity and then compare that to how much time was spent standing still doing absolutely nothing. So combined with with other indicators of being AFK factored in like randomly running/jumping a few times in a circle and then stopping, time spent in cold-spots of the map(picture a heatmap of a map, hot=where most people spend their time in a match, cold=where people rarely spend their time in a match), damage done, healing done, etc, they probably have an equation that derives an AFK confidence score and if it’s above some threshold, they flag you as having been AFK for the match. Do that for a high enough percentage of matches in some running average, like an EMA(adds priority to more recent samples), they action your account.
Please remember that deleting an entire Battlenet account is permanent and deletes your access to any game on the Blizzard launcher.
A less nuclear option is just to uninstall and delete WoW if you’re no longer wanting to play that game.
They give a brief window to reconsider the deletion after the request is sent. A decision made in a moment of anger is rarely a good one.
First, no need to be that way.
Second, I believe it takes up to thirty days to take effect.
Idk man this all seems a little overboard over a two week suspension
Just for clarification, it 'Can" take up to thirty days. There was a case awhile back where someone assumed they had the time to change their mind, but it had already gone through.
