Bearing in mind my opinion holds zero weight on the final disposition of this, I really wouldn’t count on this one being overturned.

Incredible, I guess they really have simplified it down to damage and healing then. Capping objectives and holding points just doesnt cut it anymore.
I really think a lot of people are screwed then. Plenty of games where it’s all over In 6 minutes. I don’t know how that algorithm accounts for the ”rush boss “meta.
What you are describing is not the “rush boss” meta. Rushing the bases has been the general strategy for decades. There is zero chance that, if you’re actually playing the BG, you would end up with zero damage and healing. And definitely not for the majority of games a person queues for.
You even described going to the Horde base and…waiting. Waiting for what? Kill things, even if they’re NPC’s. You described Horde in your base, killing your general. Go back there and disrupt what they are doing. DEFEND YOUR BASE.
It’s not hard, and how “fast” AV matches go is irrelevant. Standing around while the other team wins is not a strategy, or the “meta”.
The issue with that mindset is that folks thinking they need to ‘defend’ points for their reason to not engaged in combat. Often sitting in points for many games. Which would be, to my understanding, why folks are getting action as they’re would ‘defend’ points while the rest of the team handle the combat.
I have recalled numerous times attempting to kill the “kiters” or wipe their raid, recap our aid station. When I do I get completely and utterly flamed by the whole team. Calling me out and cries to report me for “trolling”. So the question is, folo the meta and get banned due to an algorithm or do your own thing and get banned for “trolling”
What you are essentially trying to promote is kill just enough npcs to stay under the radar. Yet the meta is what it is. You are accepting a broken system because it hasn’t affected you yet.
There is no combat. You run to the enemy base and kill NPCs. Try to actually PvP and you will get blasted with nasty messages.
Who cares? Let them complain.
See, you keep saying this, but this is not the reality. Again, the “meta” is not “stand around and let the Horde kill the general”. This is a strawman argument. You’re exaggerating to try and make your point seem better.
If you are actually fighting enemies, doing damage, trying to cap objectives…you are never going to hear a peep from Blizzard, regardless of how many people want to report you. That’s the whole point here. You are missing where they said “no damage or healing” for a “majority” of matches. If you are fighting the other team, that’s not “no damage or healing”.
No, what they are promoting is actually playing the game. You are taking “go do something” as “go do lots of things that maybe you don’t have enough time for”. Blizzard is not saying you have to do x amount of damage. They are saying “participate”.
So make 39 other people angry got it.
Maybe its time to lock this up no longer productive.
I don’t think thats what people are saying. The thing is if you’re playing the meta, you still should be doing damage or healing, unless your whole process is to simply ride to van/drek then just AFK outside doing nothing waiting for the other side to win, and then that really is non participation.
While obviously there will always be some BGs where participation might seem suspect, having ranked extensively on a number of classes, wether I ran with the Zerg, back capped, took objectives, I was always doing something, that I feel would have shown as activity, and it would be extremely rare even on AV weekend doing the 5 minute AVs where I would have done nothing that would show up even while being lower level with a slow mount in some cases.
I also suspect they look at a lot of other factors other then just damage done/healed, but that likely is not information they are willing to share as it would make it easier to game the system.
I see your point, I just don’t think it’s realistic. The afking outside drek, is to cap the aid station and ensure the ally win if horde wipes on Van. But heres the deal. I’m not defending the meta. I think it’s lame. And I think that there is an efficient way to pvp and a fun way. You say the fun way is doable I say it’s unrealistic. Most importantly the immediate suspension for 2 weeks because I am playing a game the way I want is ridiculous. The number of RMT, botting, griefing etc that goes on in the anniversary realms is wild. Yet sitting afk while waiting for a flag to be captured is taken care of real quick.
At the moment, it appears to be that if you unknowingly received RMT Gold in an RMT scheme, 6mo. If you are proven to have been actively involved, permanent.
Has absolutely nothing to do with your issue. Trying to deflect isn’t a good idea.
The thing is that it’s a team effort. If you’re not with the team - no matter how you think it should be done, - you open yourself up to sanctions. If you don’t stick with the team, then perhaps try to build your own team of like-minded individuals to play X kind of way.
Thank you! Thats what I’m trying to say. I have been sticking with the team. And sticking with the team leaves you afk outside drek for 6 minutes at a time. = no damage no healing.
No, it doesn’t. You can’t get to Drek or the aid station without entering combat. Plowing through the combat or avoiding it is NOT. THE. META. Standing and “waiting” is not the meta. Letting the Horde attack your base is not the meta.
No matter how much you make about this mythical situation, it does not apply to the situation outlined in this thread. You do not arrive at “no damage and healing in a majority of your matches” by standing outside the enemy base and waiting for some weird reason.
You do. Your argument just shows that you havnt been in AV lately
They can do that as much as they want, actions are not automated. Good way to get yourself actioned though, if you falsely report with the hope of causing automated penalties.
Sadly they took out the ability to do that, and now you can only queue with 5 players, and not entire premades. So at that point its still 5v35. However to your point if players could make full premades it would alleviate this issue. However then you would have people who refuse to, or cant premade for whatever reason flooding the forums upset about getting mopped up in sub 5 minutes each game they face a premade team. One of the honest answers is to allow full premades again, but it’ll never happen unfortunately.
