What new Alliance races would people ACTUALLY play?

Fair enough. when in pve would you want say 10 lfd to die in raid. 10 dead and the damage not worth the tradeoff.

honestly i dont care about new races. i think allied races were cheap and lazy. i would rather have more body types, postures, and customization for core races then another AR

The Wow community indeed comprised of Sociopaths.
I regret not having a certain Death Knight fancying himself as the “Demon King” turn over a new leaf but let him go on his old evil ways massacres denizens of Azeroth instead.

Yet knowing him, he’d likely leave one or two survivors…

Pay no attention to me just ranting here.

How about a different approach than races. Factions are broken down on a racial level but exist for ideological purpose instead. The Horde are those that seek a more lawless and liberated Kalimdor while the Alliance seek a unified Kalimdor under some kind of Alexander the Great conquest spree.

Allow every race to make that decision and pick a side they want. I don’t know why people have this misconception that a faction is dead because of its races for an aesthetic purpose though. There isn’t a race in the game that could make Alliance playable unless it had ridiculously busted racials that forced every top player across pve and pvp to mass migrate to Alliance. People aren’t going to just leave Horde and all of its massive convenience like having the bulk of players on the game for parties and such without a huge tidal wave moving so they don’t lose that convenience. One race isn’t going to accomplish this.

Now, if writers decided to tailor the narrative to something similar to the above if factions must exist, focus on differences in how we feel Azeroth should be, if it should be an all under one unified banner thing or a more every group has its own autonomy or something. Then wipe everyone’s faction and make them all choose between the two, you’ll probably get a pretty even split. Unless people actually hold off their decision until they see what the bulk of top guilds and streamers do if it’s a one way thing. Though doing this could be healthier honestly, make faction swapping a quest with a long cooldown to it kind of like how you switched covenant. Change the faction change in the shop to just resetting that cooldown.

This would also be an easier way to justify why the factions would work together against content provided no dungeons are specifically aimed at a conflict between the two.

Trash panda. Put a racoon race on the Alliance side and people will flock to it.

I guess my first remark would be, if they require some grind to unlock the new race, I wouldn’t bother. However, if they just made them available from the sub, I think I’d be interested in half-breeds. Pick two races and blend them into a new model. DW8 does that now with humans. If I could do a halforcen, halfelven, and so on, I’d even reconsider my ‘boycott’ of retail.

I don’t know honestly. I think the current situation and lore make this painful. To me it’s basically at the point they’d have to pull something completely out of the blue which doesn’t really make sense. But at the same time they seem to have not cared about lore or story for awhile.

This. I’m genuinely curious at the Horde players immediately responding 'Horde race!" at the suggestion of Saberon due solely to the fact that we see some Saberon escaping to Azeroth during the Mag’har recruitment. None of the other allied races came from alt Draenor, so where else would they have been able to show that some traveled to Azeroth? Did Horde quest with Saberon during WoD that I somehow missed or establish friendly relations with them? Sethrak at least I agree would naturally lean Horde due to that reason alone (and, let’s be honest, they live in what’s now firmly Horde territory).

Sethrak would be my main vote. However I don’t ultimately care what faction they would be.

I would definitely prefer to play my snake person on Alliance.

I’m turned off on Saberon based on the sheer amount of on-the-floor-of-their-own-homes pooping the race can tolerate. There are little piles of poop all over their caves in Draenor.

We do not need cat people crapping all over Ironforge and I fear we do not have the capability to box-train a whole race.

I personally would love Vor’kai as remodel of Dryad/child of cenarius. As playable race. I would make a druid one in thats instant.

Races already in the game:

  • Jinyu

  • Broken

  • Furbolg

  • Wildhammer Dwarf

  • Man’ari Eredar

Customizations:

  • More body types for Kul Tirans => at least “regular body” (Stormwind humans) + “taller body” (Kul Tirans we already have). “Thin body” would be appreciated too.

Kind of races not in the game and I would really really like:

  • A lizardman race (and Sethrak for the Horde) :lizard:

  • A 100% canine race :dog: => use the Worgen model for that (Anubisath or something like that)

Jinyu.
I would play a Jinyu Warrior any day.

What Horde players responding this way? I’ve only seen one and that poster has spent most of their time requesting for Alliance, they certainly post on a Horde character though.

For two reasons. The one you have brought up and because of the sharing philosophy they try to push through. That’s also the reason why the Worgen and Kul-Tiran model will be used for a Saberon and Ogre-model, if they ever are going to bring those races to the players.
