I’ve been leveling different characters for 3 years, barely any time at max level. I have 8 warlocks at 40+ and they only get better with each xpac.
Mid 30s warlocks are pure gold. I run with zero stats, just +shadow wrath greens and the Elemental Raiment (always 5g or less for some reason). Combined with a maxed out drain life, fel concentration, and void sac. I’m unstoppable. From 35 on the class ranges from overpowered to godmode depending on how cheap the +damage gear is. If I have gold a blue staff with a damage enchant will last 20 levels.
I couldn’t solo the princess quest in Arathi, or Overlord in HFP, but I soloed every last quest before that.
Dislike badlands and tanaris. Loathe both plaguelands. Felwood, Feralas, Ungoro and Winterspring are OK. Boring Crusade zones are dreadful, and the start of WOTLK is vehicle mayhem which sucks.
I have big boost of fun from level 1, because the nostalgia of starting fresh, then it kind of fades around level 20-30. Thankfully Wrath gives mounts early, so it becomes a bit motivating. Fast mount at level 40 also helps.
when my teammates stop clowning on my gear and asking what my resilience is, so I guess in wrath that’s a week or two after hitting 80, because that’s how easy it is to gear in this expansion.
1~10 is kindda fast and fun
10~20 is so annoying
20~40 is tedious unless there are enemy players to have fun fighting them
40+ more class utility and mount is where i start to enjoy wow
at cap level it’s game over > time to make another alt xD
I usually enjoy the early zones a lot. Finally getting shoulders (pre boa) feels like a huge step.
In tbc I felt like 30s/40s was where the talents started paying off but that might be different now idk. Only 1 class below lvl 70 that I’m saving for my laay 80.
I’m an altoholic. I start enjoying them at level 1, of course. Hell, 1-10 is some of the best nostalgia in the entire game IMO. But they ascend to a new level of fun at 40, typically, and then usually again at 50 and 60. It depends on the class, though, some mature sooner than others.
