What is your Tinfoil Hat WoW Conspiracy Theory?

That there’s going to be a relationship/romance plot between Anduin and Sylvanas in Shadowlands.

Mages who port people to “Old Dalaran” get secret kickbacks from the forsaken.

The Venders who repair our gear give 12% of their profit to the lift repair men who break our gear.

Summoned food is really bugs with good illusions on them.

There is secret coding that scans your char and makes sure that the gear you need has the worst possibility of dropping. It exists to extend play and only de-activates upon your computer registering that your playing less.

my theory is at some point blizzard may have intended to create a WoW 2.0
and i think they wanted backwards compatibility with the player base of current wow

but the project is deemed too costly while not generating enough revenue to make it a worthwhile venture so they scrapped the idea, and now is putting WoW on farm until it dies it’s eventual death. The company has restructured to keep income high while not producing anything spectacular by cutting costs and using new, inexperienced people. By the time when all the current products are nearing the end of their shelf life those employees will be experienced enough to create good original products, and after they create a generation of masterpieces blizzard will fire them again and hire inexperienced programmers just to keep everything running while they slowly declines etc, etc and repeat the process

Ambitious that you predict an uptick.

Fact is, no matter the industry, you’re never going to be able to reach a high level of skill in your workforce if you have green training green. Without proper mentors with a range of experience, certain undesirable practices will be inherited and reinforced through no single person’s fault. No amount of experience in a broken system will force that system to fix itself.

thats where our tin foil views on blizzard’s operations differ

you believe their system to be broken, incapable of producing quality

i believe they simply decided its not cost effective to release good products and therefore rather make trash until they cant get away with it anymore,

i mean, sure there’s a chance that the employees will never gain the experience needed to make exceptional products.

but blizzards not stupid, they have money

they’ll just hire people who can
when they have to, that is XD

“Fake it 'til you make it” goes both ways. If you deliberately churn out a garbage product for years, that will eventually be all you’re capable of. The system will become incapable of anything else.

It’s interesting listening in on conversations with people who have done hiring for larger companies. I recall us passing on an industry veteran who had 35 years of experience in the exact same process that we were looking for expertise in. Why did we pass? Because it was all with a single operation owned by the largest company in the field. In other words, he was a cog in an established system. We needed someone who could develop our program, not just maintain it. Furthermore, without a variety of experience, we could only be certain that he understood his process, but probably did not have an intuitive understanding of the process overall because he had no points of comparison. Lastly, if someone has 35 years of habits, we’re getting the bad ones with the good, and there’s no chance you’ll break a veteran of those habits.

Anyway, that was a tangent. As for “just hire people who can,” the reputation of your company matters. How many people are flocking to BioWare these days? Ho often have you heard news about them since their founders left and they released a few duds? Blizzard is on the same track - they’re just taking longer.

that gambling mechanics are designed to not only extend time played metrics, but also to frustrate at the same time. frustrated players are more likely to engage in microtransactions to alleviate the frustration of RNG.

I think this is a fun topic!
Mine is that the mounts in Malyogs’s raid are a 50% or grater drop chance. I have had both mounts drop many times for me. I have taken other brand new players there to add to their mount collections.

The person hunting chromie in her scenarios was old chromie trying to undo mistakes of her past.

My big one is “Elune created the naaru and the void lords.”

No, it’s a tin foil hat thread, and thats my conspiracy.

Ah, my bad. Thought you were replying with the reality of the situation. That one has been bugging me since it came up.

The Infinite Dragonflight aren’t done. If I recall, some Dragonmaw Orcs rode in on them during the War Crimes novel.

Yea, I saw it somewhere a while back and it makes sense to me. But who knows, I hope we get more.

Sylvanas is a BM hunter and Nathanos is her pet

My theorem? We the “champions” etc. We’re actually sleeping N’raqi. Hurtled through space and time by the 5th Chaos god… er Old God hinted at in one of the Volumes. Sent forth to destroy our true lord/lady’s rivals. All in preparation for its’ coming.

All shall be ruin and despair! Let the mortal races tremble before our might!
