I’m fine with most genres but I usually go with instrumentals. I tune out lyrics most of the time anyway. I’m a simple man. The beat and vibe is good, I’m having a good time.
And my dad was born in 1948
Ironic that’s pretty much the start of my music taste lol
Any type of dark electronic music, industrial, synthwave, etc. 80’s synthpop, 80’s jpop, jrock & citypop, 80’s & 90’s goth rock, 80’s & 90s metal, 90s grunge, shoegaze & triphop, classic rock, anime theme songs (lol, seriously some of it is fantastic).
First song is straight up underground warehouse rave vibes, love it. Wish I could give an artist name for it. Saw James Hype at Countdown 2022, super fire set. Ferrari’s beat been stuck in my head ever since lol
House, DnB, dubstep, riddim, melodic bass, honestly could throw any EDM genre my way and I’ll be happy. Seems like your taste is leaning more towards the Techno/Tech House side which I don’t know too many artists in these genres off the top of my head. Miss living in SoCal and having all the Insomniac raves so close…we even had to sell our EDCLV tickets this year as well, sad days.
The eurobeats from Initial D get me INSANELY hyped hahaha
Top three genres for me would be:
- Metal
- Synthwave
- Orchestral with no vocals
Flexible to most types but lean towards Epic Music and but more towards Hybrid Orchestra (If I have my definitions correct).
Lots of short songs for this group, often used in games and the like:
A pair from my favorite group. They use almost everything that can make music in almost every song:
I love every variation of Nightwish.
From Tarja,Annette and Floor.
Have you seen Imaginarium? Last checked it was still on Prime.
Metal/heavy metal/symphonic metal/power metal are largely what I listen to 99% of the time. And random 90s songs that have nothing to really do with metal at all. Currently, I’m on a Kamelot kick and listening to their newest album, The Awakening, on repeat.
Dreampop and progressive.
Contemporary Jazz.
late 80s and 90’s metal/hard rock and early 2000’s.
I listen to a bit of a variety. Each month I typically change genres. One month I was listening to Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson and David Ball the next was Slipknot, Cradle of Filth and after that was Big Bill Broonzy, Blind Willie Johnson, Canned Heat, Dean Martin, Leon Redbone.
Sometimes I’m listening to The Melodians or The Dubliners. This past month and half has been Oomph, Faun, Einsbrecher, Megaherz, Saltatio Mortis and Rammstein.
My simple straightforward answer has always been metal. But that’s too simple. I lean more into power metal, with a particular fondness for silly, gimmicky stuff. But I also do listen to plenty of other music. Rock, folk, blues, even just straight up pop music these days. We just had Eurovision this past weekend. It’s always been a staple in my life. This year’s show was a cracker! The winner was a total scam though. It should have been Finland!
