I’ll use level boosts if they come with an expansion, but to buy them on their own is poor value

eh, it depends. i can make $60 much faster than i can level a character. i’ve only boosted one but it was worth it for me.

I paid for some sort of AoTC run back, like, forever ago. I can’t even remember what it was for. I think I paid around 48k for it if I remember right.

Same, don’t see the point. I burn cash to get a shiny epic to do what with exactly? I didn’t learn the content so it’s not like it’ll let me move on to harder content. And for cosmetics, I have more mounts than I know what to do with already so there’s not much point in stuffing the stable full of even more that I pull out once every 3 years.

More generally I don’t spend money on games outside of the initial game purchase and subscription, which has the nice bonus of making financial room for other hobbies that net me tangible objects that don’t expire when the next patch/xpac/etc rolls around.

Level boosts are more acceptable I guess, but I have a stack of free-with-xpac boosts sitting on my character select screen gathering dust because I’ve never felt inclined to use them.

only boosts i pay for is character boosts in the cs. last time i paid for one was idk maybe in WoD.

i don’t buy boosts otherwise. i was going to buy the WoD moose via a boost but wasn’t worth it imo as i was more actively collecting mounts back then and i rather not have it versus buy it via a boost. if it’s BoE mounts/pets i will buy them if i want to via AH other then that yea i don’t buy any.

I don’t know why they removed it. Maybe raiders were complaining. Maybe they wanted those time/played metrics. Maybe they wanted to sell more WoW tokens. Maybe they wanted people to do higher keys on alts. (I hate doing high keys on alts because there’s specific roles I’m just not good at).

Because no other gearing end-game works like that. You don’t get 1800 or AotC on your main and it suddenly unlocks a full gear set like that.

It worked like it did in 9.0 cause 9.0’s KSM system was a bandaid fix because they wanted to put out the upgrades without having to wait until 9.1 to have the actual system ready.

6k gold in SoO for the garrosh 2h axe. Top guild on the server had sold hundreds and did them over and over with the gold being their only reward as the raid was loot locked.

Wouldnt really call it being boosted moreso buying a raid weapon out of reach to most people at the time.

In Cata i purchased 10x pureblood firehawk mounts for 1 million gold upfront, i gave two away to friends, used one myself and then sold the remaining 7 to people on my home server for a marked up price so that my friends and mine were free

Since then i have participated in selling some runs here and there but most of the mythic only boss drop mounts i either earned myself or friends took me for free once their guild started selling runs, they’d just have me on standby in case a sale fell through and then i’d go for free.

I paid a guild on my server some gold to obtain the Moose Mount from Archimonde in WOD. It is the only boost/carry that I have ever purchased.

Isn’t that the one from beating heroic NWC? Cause that’s a pretty slam dunk yes for me.

As far as I’m concerned if you’re paying someone to perform a service for something their character is not personally responsible of providing to you then that’s boosting for all intents and purposes. This would be things like gear from content, achievements/feats, any titles/pets/toys/mounts from said achievements, etc. If the player’s chatacter is capable of providing it to you then it’s not a boost, which would basically exclude stuff like crafted items.

OT: Outside of any promo that grants you a free level boost I’ve never bought one. As far as in game purchasing from other players I probably never will.

The only kind of boost I’ve ever done is the level boost. Any loot, gear, mounts I get are just what I can earn out in the open world. No boost needed there.

All of my gold goes to buy tokens for subs.
