Never have and never will. If I want something I’d rather go and earn it.
I bought a boost for the grove warden mount in legion. It’s the first time I did something like that, they told me to go die in the corner and I just lie there and got a mount lol.
Not the best experience but it the mount is beautiful and I hadn’t even tried that raid on LFR up to that point so i felt there was no other way!
I have a lot of issues with that word. I don’t want to earn anything because this is a game I play for fun, not a job I work. That said, I wouldn’t want anything anyone else got for me. It’s my game to play and my enjoyment to experience. I certainly won’t pay someone else to have fun in my stead.

From what I heard it was due to the change away from basing the gear upgrades on the 3 achievements in 9.0.5 (+5, +10, +15 on all dungeons which were account wide and for example as soon as you completed all 10s on one toon you could upgrade all your toons to that tier) to the individual rating requirements (which have more steps along the way as well, 6 vs only 4 in S1)). And I’m fine with that, just make it so that once you get KSM (which is account wide), you can upgrade all your alts to 246. That’s at least better than what we have today (tiers at 0, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1700, and 2000 for every single character).
I’m unaware of any change to this coming in 9.2 unfortunately (again, instead of addressing why people boost in the first place, we get the boost community ban).
The only boosts I’ve ever used are the ones Blizzard has given out with new expansions.
I used almost all of them on reroll characters when I changed servers and didn’t have a lot of money (at the time) to transfer my originals.
Beaupeep got a boost near the end of WoD just to catch her up and get ready for Legion, but I already had (and still do) a copy of her on an old server. My other boosts were used in similar ways.
I would never pay someone for a carry in this game. If I can’t get it or get some help for free, I won’t do it. I’d rather level my characters myself. Not like it takes that long any more anyway.
But I was also making millions in passive gold income back then. Not so much in Shadowlands.

Never boosted but I don’t care if others do. I’ll use level boosts if they come with an expansion, but to buy them on their own is poor value
I wish they sold that level 50 token that came with Shadowlands separately. 60 boost sucks, I would actually buy the 50 boosts if they were the right price.
Do flightmasters count as a boost or just a carry?

I tried it on Hellfire to get the mount ,I already knew the fight but couldn’t get anyone to form a raid on Archimode. This where I learned why.
I’ve never purchased a carry. I’m way to paranoid someone will take my gold and run away
Does anti-depressant medication count? I paid $20-ish for a 30-day supply of Lexapro but I stopped taking a few weeks ago

why would I boost? Just dont see the point in it.
Never. However I’ve done 2 friendship mount runs, which were free.
I’ve had pity carries from high end friends, but never paid for a carry. If I can’t earn it, I have no trouble admitting it’s out of reach & admiring those who put in the work.
The Grove Warden mount. Quite happy with it.
I was desperate enough for a ring drop I paid 55K for a heroic Sylvanas kill. No ring
