My lvl 73 paladin is a god in timewalking dungeons. The scaling is a bit odd.
I found from 70-73 you are strong the 74-77 you can die from a wet noodle. Then after that its good.
Timewalking doesnt get them esport cred. So theyre doing any and every thing they can to make it unappealing
I was doing TW dungeons on my earthen shaman to level up and yeah the tank was being melted, since it scaled to my level I had to spam heal the tank or else we wiped. Since I couldnt dps it took us a long time to do the dungeon, I wasnt aware it was this bad so I won’t do TW until I reach at least 75, it was my fault for being there in the first place.
I don’t entirely think you’re right , yes there are people leveling new classes through TW but scaling is all over the place. Not to mention some peoples level outpaces the gear they are getting making things worse.
I think that may have just been a case of the tank not having the gear for his level range to stay alive. Though there are scaling issues all over where some mobs can one shot you (Mana Tombs) and cases where the tank can chain pull with no problems.
I did a TW last night. The healer came in, started Spinning Crane Kicking, it one shot the pack, then he just did that through the entire dungeon, myself the tank and the rest just ran behind while he 1 shot everything.
Then I had a healer who couldn’t/wasn’t healing? I’m not sure. If you’re level 10 you’re gonna 1 shot everything, if you’re 75 you’re gonna struggle if your gear sucks.
I also saw a Warlock with a Wand in their main hand. I told them but they said that’s all they had lolol. He was doing like zero damage.
Not all classes are created equal , though most lvl 10s will be OP some like the monk you played with are insane when it comes to scaling.
Keep pretending your opinion isn’t its own amorphous thing. Gearing for timewalking was, for months, the only thing my daughters and I found fun. We would aim for the timewalking weeks as we were not enjoying Dragonflight. The decision they made was the worst news we’d heard in years, and the sad thing is, as with most of their changes, they made things worse. As many have said level 10s and elevens can solo. Monks can spinning crane kick through a whole dungeon and you as a "participant " are just trying to keep up. 70s scale strongly and 75 and up horribly until you get 80 and a very high ilevel. I’ve run a ton of tw during this event across a lot of level ranges and it’s as broken as I’ve ever seen it. It wasn’t worth the damage they did to a whole section of the playerbase because they didn’t put the time in to test it and properly balance it. This is the closest I’ve seen to Pandaria Remix being in live. Just crazy stuff happening.

Even with the scaling i still dont get how anyone dies in timewalking its still the easiest content. Do yall die in heroic as well?
Scaling is the main factor. A level 11 tank will obliterate those dungeons

Are people trolling when they say you can’t die in easy content? Everything can be relative in WoW, you could have 4 freshly dinged 80s wearing greens or you could have literal 12 year olds playing, you dunno what’s behind the monitor.

It’s a hot mess right now. I was pea shooting as a preservation evoker trying to level and gear today.
Fastest way to fix it is to run Follower Dungeons or main storyline in Khaz Algar until you have the “correct” ilvl items for your level.
They didn’t just kill fun, they made the entire game literally impossible to play between level 70 and 80. It bleeds over into the campaign as well.
I kind of get why they did it, based on their reasoning. But I don’t know if that makes up for creating your own fun “dream set” of legacy trinkets and legendary gear. That being said, the stat squishes screw created a ton of issues, I’d have mop gear I couldn’t use because it was lower level than bc timewalking, or normal dungeon BFA azerite pieces higher level than mythic raiding BFA pieces, it was a real mess. I can see both sides I just don’t feel like this was a very good fix

Scaling and tuning is how , mana tombs being an example with the shield bash mobs one shotting people for like double their hp. Not to mention there’s level ranges that just fall over from being hit.
They decided Timewalking should take 10x longer so they made everything scale to you instead of vice versa and then buffed it even more. Timewalking is a slog now and I refuse to do it anymore. Used to enjoy it, not anymore.
