I bet that TW are still running with a high numbers of players because of the anniversary buff on XP, you can say that the participation is rigged.
Wait until the next one without to see how “popular” this stupid idea truly is.
I had no issues with the BC tw event on any of my toons the last few days. Did them on a lvl 77 who leveled to 80 and got the quest and finished the quest. Didn’t notice a bit of difference in those.
I’ve ran a few on lower toons like 15-25 and no issues.
The only wipe I had over the weekend was MT with the worms aoe…I don’t see a big difference…
And I am (sorry I know this is a different opinion) all for the instances both TW and current to be a bit more difficult then they have been.
It wasn’t “fun” but keep hiding behind an amorphous thing to be able to hide from any criticism
It’s insane how it affects runs. This morning I was disc healing (lv 79) a Magister’s Terrace run with a Paladin tank that I didn’t really see which level they were.
That tank was getting absolutely destroyed by the trash mobs, even through Pain Suppression and heavy healing. Mobs also were very resistant.
Then they died and left… A Demon Hunter tank joined immediately and suddenly they took zero damage and mob packs and bosses died within seconds.
Sorry guys the game isnt just for you. I dont have that much issues as a dps on timewalking dungeon. I usually find that in general mostly with dungeons alone. Most people dont know how to play their class let alone how to play their spec. Then most people in a role just because and have no clue smh. Thats why i believe followers dungeons is necessary to help me learn how to play their class and spec and not waste people time.
The only thing good about this change is it cleaned out my bank. I had so many nicknacks just so I could blast timewalking. This was a really dumb change because this was the only reason I’d do more than 5 dungeons, if I bothered at all, on my main.
On a side note, the Black Temple raid is still working the way timewalking used to, so the fun isn’t totally gone. But if you’re like me and only do the last boss in the raid if possible… well… yeah.
I’m still hanging on to a few items that were very very powerful in timewalking besides the legendaries just in case, but my hopes are not up.
I don’t know what’s worse though, having an OP TW set and destroying TW or having level 10s just rock up and go HAM. At least with the TW set you purposely farmed it, level 10s just show up.
there seem to be certain levels that are doing fine in the new scaling. 70 is one of them. 50 is another. level 10’s and 11’s can almost solo run dungeons. 70 is the last expansions level cap and 50, after 2 level squishes “should” be what level 110 was. also an expansion cap level.
basically if you’re beef supreme (geared to the teeth) at the previousgame expansion caps you do fine but as you level and dont keep up with the ilvl changes you get weaker.
this is just a theory.
There’s nothing you can do besides play less squishy classes, pray your healer is Res Druid or Pevoker, and be VERY careful not to pull extra mobs until you see how bad the damage is.
To be completely fair, a lot of players kept complaining that the game wasn’t challenging enough. Now time walking is dangerous and mythic plus is way overtuned. This is what it looks like when people get what they ask for.
https://youtu.be/vhcXHmuJUPQ?si=LxJkvbO5y00qHucX watch the first 10 secs if you can get thru this girl talking. and that is why blizzard is the way they are. they have people like her heading deptments.
It was definitely fun.
Heavy irony coming from someone posting on an alt.
I leveled 70-80 on my Prot Warrior exclusively in Classic and BC dungeons. Pulled multiple packs, very rarely switched out gear as I had some DF catch-up Tier. Had a grand ol’ time.
It’s very funny at least strolling through a TW with a level 11.
I Whirlwind and one shot entire rooms.
lmao.
I mean, seriously, who was complaining about the state of TW?
You wouldn’t notice a difference between being carried by a level 15 at 77 and being carried by a level 15 at 80.
It’s essentially the same as it ever was. Which is boring, but still the same.
A few things changed:
- Tanks got nerfed in the 11.0 prepatch because reasons;
- TW used to scale players and their gear down to the expansion level (30 for TBC/WotLK, 35 for Cata/MoP, 40 for WoD, 45 for Legion). This was changed when TWW launched to work like regular dungeons; and
- The tuning in TW is completely whack. Some trash will two-shot a non-tank. Others falls over like a wet noodle.
TW used to be a chill and my preferred method of levelling. Now you can’t pull big packs and the health is much higher so it just takes longer. The whole thing feels like a chore.
Fun was detected.
I’ve never detected a lot of fun in timewalking. It seems to be about the same as it was but I guess people don’t need to hold on to extra old gear now?
There was a whole community around finding and collecting TW specific gear that got completely wiped out by the change. So that was fun was detected.
Outside of that, many people find modern dungeons annoying. The “difficulty” is just “don’t stand in the swirlies” 80% of the time. I probably did less than 20 dungeon runs total in the entire DF expansion, for example.
Most people don’t play WoW to get annoyed. They play WoW to relax.
Essentially taking the fun out of things and basically forcing players to do TWW content just to not be torn in two by mobs. Forced gameplay never ends well, I get it they want more people doing the content but basically making it like this is such crap. Outside of timewalking you get the option of how you level in one way or another in that up til TWW you can level anywhere you want and timewalking was always nice for people who didn’t want to keep repeating the main content but…nope not an option anymore.
