What happened to the gritty dark fantasy we once had?

Look I’m only saying that using something that barely reaches Twilight levels of darkness doesn’t quite cut it for me.

That the show is rated TV-14 was just an ironic reminder.

To me, it’s the “T for Teen” or “E for Everyone” version of the very rated-M Warhammer.

It’s like Duplo from Lego blocks- giant legos and made for toddlers so they don’t choke on them.

WoW is basically that, it’s the less-edgy, easier-to-digest version lol.

Even the story beats you over and over so the thickest of skulls can understand it.

It’s an attempt at that. One that is regularly handicapped by idealistic hope for a better virtual future.

Which is never not going to be funny.

They so desperately want to be as good as the thing they hate and are always falling short simply by tripping over their own laces. I kind of enjoy it.

tf are you talking about lol

Mostly the fact that there are so few real progress battles to fight that we’ve transferred our activism into the virtual sphere. Which, as stated before, will never not be funny.

Pretty sure he didn’t survive. He just has this habit of getting better after dying.

Not to toot my Primarch’s horn but Russ would have survived re-entry.

That affect you, maybe.

I remember an old quote from a WoW dev, saying that “peace will never happen” or something along those lines, in the Warcraft franchise.

Yet, increasingly as the years go on, Horde and Alliance are growing closer together, each expansion.

The faction war was a the reason behind a lot of stuff in WoW, and that reason is just kinda gone now.

The Burning Legion got to Azeroth through the Orcs. And the Forsaken and Lich King were a later result of all that, creating the Scarlet Crusade in turn, and so-on.

Now, I just wonder when Horde & Alliance as a whole are just going to be merged.

Gameplay-wise, they are already. Factions don’t matter for endgame content.

It’s just weird from a story perspective, I don’t see them ever making factions relevant again as they used to be.

Strange that such a huge part of the game, the Horde vs. The Alliance, isn’t really a major part of anything anymore. Everyone gets their “one size fits all” story lol.

Nah. After a life-time of activism it’s hard to put the torch down. Understandably so.

There is always a time though.

A time to hammer our picket signs into… something made out of wood and poster board?

A time to turn our picket-signs into plowshares and get back to work.

That is not the time these people want though.

That would be a really crappy plowshare though.

Depends on how good your poster board is at causing papercuts.

Fair enough. That’s worse though.

And then there’s also ants that use themselves as honey storage, and when you stroke their antennae, they dispense it lol.

From a narrative perspective. Which is understandably not a player perspective.

I can shake my cane at the clouds all I want but I can’t change their horrible story angle. You’re totally correct about that.

Still counts!

Just a deep drink of their jetfuel beer and off he goes, not even a singe to his hair.

Yeah, actually.

I get that you don’t care about the people who still need help, but they need help regardless.

Anyways, just needed to be said. I know there’s no changing your political ideology on a forum.
