We’ll have 8 dungeons and a raid. How is that “half” the content? I don’t usually partake in world content if it’s skippable, but looks like there’s a big focus on that this time.
Pvp is being shaken up by the talent revamp and solo queue.
We’ll have 4 dungeons and 4 Timewalking dungeons of old soggy content that likely won’t scale well. And then will be replaced, 8 months later mind you, with the 4 other dungeons we should have gotten, 4 more Timewalkng dungeons, and a mess of tuning that Blizzard won’t fix for 3-6 weeks while they focus their attention on the World First Race.
As far as the raid, I can’t knock it, but also it is also the bare minimum. One 10 boss raid every 8 months is almost certainly what we’re getting and I’d say that qualifies as the lowest possible bar compared to the likes of Legion.
Or it could be very 20 weeks. Like legion. We don’t know for sure. Anyone positing their release schedule at this stage is just shooting in the dark.
And the 4 “old” dungeons aren’t timewalking. They’re being rebalanced for m+ from the drop, #somechanges. Not to mention, the first season at least will have 4 dungeons that were never m+ dungeon to begin with, so it’s new. They’ll also have new loot pools, and revamped loot for every season.
We’ll see. Blizzard has “rebalanced” content in the past and usually that just means coming in with a sledgehammer.
Again, I guess we’ll see. Considering Ion has expressed his distaste for stuff like Phial, IQD, and Scale, I’m skeptical they’ll do a proper job of it.
9.2.5 will be a good and proper test of what this looks like. If Grimrail and Iron Docks suck, then Shado-Pan Monastery, Temple of the Jade Serpent, and whatever else we get will probably suck too.
They are reworking the talent system, upgrading professions, adding a new race/class combo, a new customizable dragon mount and flying experience, the new zones and dungeons plus raids and we haven’t even heard everything yet. Just hang tight and see I guess. It looks great to me so far.
Ah yes, Ion mumbling the words “Zereth Mortis” to himself over and over with his interview with Asmongold. Truly, everyone who buys a new expansion wants to collect currency to craft pets and mounts as the only end-game activity they engage with.
No Brawler’s Guild, no fun end-game activities, just collecting currencies and patterns for mounts. Actually, scratch that, not mounts, barding for your expansion-only mount that you won’t use after Dragonflight.
Truly the peak of content. It is no wonder we’ve had one of the smallest and longest expansions ever, they’ve diverted all their resources and gone all hands on deck for Zereth Mortis: Electric Boogaloo.
Side-note: This cracks me up. I actually don’t understand Blizzard patting themselves on the back about ZM. Barely anyone I know engages with that content. I expect 10.0 to be a disaster much more-so than 9.0 if this is what they hope will hold people over.
Hey bud, I play it and I see plenty of people in ZM on my server, just saying.
Granted I don’t get to play like I used to but I do like ZM and my little main man Pocopoc. I think there is some interesting lore and things to do in there and the story wasn’t that bad, it could of been better but it is what it is.
Take a break bud and come back refreshed in 10.0, it seems you need it, you sound burnt out to me.
I’m actually flabbergasted that the expansion is like 14 months away and I’ve had people tell me that “Oh the content you’re waiting for will come in 10.1”. It’s actually completely insane.
I do expect 10.1 to add some features to fix how bare-bones 10.0 is… but damn dude, waiting 22 months for something new to enjoy outside of the same-ol same-ol is a LONG time.
I’m actually having a good time with the game right now. I’m more-so afraid that every good thing they’ve finally managed to do with 9.2 is going to be flushed down the toilet. We finally have good dungeons, we finally have our Creation Catalyst, we finally have opened up systems… and now we’re only going to get so many months to play it before we’re playing strictly-worse versions of the same thing with no actual new activities. I dread DF so far. In a certain sense, the expansion taking so long is a good thing - it will take longer before it throws out what works.
It’s like when TOGC replaced Ulduar… I’d have rather kept playing Ulduar.
Or… and this might sound crazy… They could just announce what they can actually do. It’s not hard, most people probably can’t get away with giving too little or too much info at their jobs.
I should look forward to a new expansion. It’s kind of the fun of a new expansion, the hype cycle. Right now I feel nothing… less than nothing actually, so far I pretty much actively DO NOT want Dragonflight, other than I think Dracthyr look pretty cool.
I’m not schilling for anyone. I’ve critized the heck out of WOW and its known on here on what I don’t like but I’m also truthful.
I’ve liked the Covenants choices, it felt like an RPG for me.
Yes the currency system sucked.
However, I liked Maldraxxus and the other Covenants. I personally would of kept Shadowlands a mystery because I think the allure of death and the gods is part of the magic of this world.
I didn’t like the split soul story and the Jailer could of been better if at the end of WOTLK he was silhouetted in the background of the Lich King death or something like that giving us something to speculate on all this time and to build upon the story. They should of built Zovaal up in my opinion.
I still don’t like what they did to PVP servers and there are other issues I disagree with but no, I’m no schill and matter of fact my next big issue with the new expansion I’ve posted about, I don’t hide anything.
