You raise a fair point, still doesn’t change my mindset as by that reasoning humans should be shaman.
Again I’m not calling for a goblin shaman purge, only for blizzard to come up with a better justification than elemental bribery (regardless of how they actually do it it just sounds odd saying it aloud)
As far as I am aware, humans do not have the previous relationship with shamanism that goblins had. I can’t find any evidence they practice geomancy as a race. At best some early tribes may have had something similar before the Light took over…which was very early in the human race existence cycle.
Back in the human hunter-gatherer phase they had some primitive variation, but they abandoned it.
Lest we forget though that unlike our world, Azeroth’s races were directly forged by the titans, thus skipping a lot of civilization steps. Fel if I recall correctly goblins were one of ymiron’s experiments. Like, he took a native race or something thousands of years ago and changed them with kajamite. Not 100% sure, need to read volume 1 of the chronicle again.
I do recall they regressed are one point then came back to some degree because of kajamite . . . now I’m wondering how one turns a rock into a soft drink.
The majority of Monk combos, just weird seeing Dwarf, Forsaken, Gnome, any Elf, Tauren, Draenei… maybe not so much as “makes no sense” but just weird to see.
Agreed some are awkward at best, like gnome or forsaken.
Gnome just for the sheer lack of size.
Forsaken like, ima kick you in the -crack- oops that was my shin-bone, hold on.
I think the point is every race has their own form of martial combat, their own form of archers/hunters, their own form of warriors. But I wish that was fleshed out more by their racial class trainers for example.
Oh god I never even considered that lightforged draenei could be a thing.
I think that there are all sorts of class combinations that don’t make sense from a lore point of view but do make sense from a gameplay balance point of view.
Gnome/goblin warriors, night elf mages, void elf holy priests, worgen/goblin death knights pre-SL, and many others fall under this category.
No, it exists now. Allied Race Death Knights have a couple of quests (similar to the non-DK Allied Race experience) introducing their situation, and it’s completely voice acted. Even Darion Mograine (albeit with a weird voice) is back and talking. Sylvanas isn’t mentioned, and Bolvar still has the Lich King helmet.
I don’t think Blizzard would’ve bothered to do all of that if it wasn’t canon, and if this was supposed to take place after Sylvanas defeats Bolvar, then you would think they would mention these things. Instead, the most Bolvar says about it is vague stuff about a “time of great destruction” that is coming soon.
