What class will your high elf be?

Its simple, Lets see your best High Elf, not Sin’Dorei look. I know you don’t want to, I understand.

What about wintergrasp?

It most certainly is a par tof the mechanics.

You should be.

Did you not read? Every battleground master for Wintergrasp is Silver Covenant. A Silver Covenant NPC is literally the one trying to rally Alliance forces to go to Wintergrasp in Dalaran/open portals toward it to reinforce the Alliance there.

It’s a good thing the mechanics also describe the lore of the Alliances factions then, I love it when Blizzard themselves put stuff like that out there :face_with_hand_over_mouth:.

You’re a waste of everyone’s time, then again I shoulda realized as much when you’re on the side of Trollsong.

Muted

What kind Of Elf would you call Elves we see in the Silver Covenant?

Oh i have tons, leaving work at the moment, but ill be sure to post more when i get home

Sure thing, I cant wait to see. Just need to see your best one.

Rather farfetched considering all I have presented.

The Sunreavers and The Silver Covenant have ever only aided the Alliance and Horde in neutral operation - as seen through quests with a singular exception where the Kirin’tor was declared to be Alliance momentarily by a maddened Jaina Proudmoore.

In the book Tides of War that we can 100% determine to be completely void of game mechanics, such as grindable reputation, necessary NPCs with portals to guide places certain places, shows us that neither The Silver Covenant NOR The Sunreavers could act on their own volition to just send help where they determine there should be help. The Kirin’tor had to make a vote for whether they should defend Theramore or not defend Theramore against the Horde, and the Kirin’tor leadership proposed a member of the Sunreavers.

You have these to indisputeable facts as to the Sunreavers and The Silver Covenant being sub-branches under the Kirin’tor which in most instances throughout the story, are neutral. Each sub-branch had their leanings and favorite faction, but they were still neutral as they were part of the Kirin’tor first and foremost.

What opposes it… is game mechanics. That does not help.

It should not be a hard concept to understand, really.

The discussion and toxic debate is pretty much done, both side will be able to look and play High Elves in both factions and neither side has the Title High Elf. The whole pure thing was never the issue.

If you want to play a Silver Covenant you will now be able to play them in the Alliance.

Considering a good chunk of our lore comes from game mechanics, outright dismissing them is foolish. In fact, the latest book about the Eastern Kingdoms reference several items you would only see ingame. Which means sometimes its book lore that follows game lore.

In the Sunreaver’s case this veritable false. Aethas did go to Silvermoon to help in their sha research unbeknownst to Jaina. We also see Blizzard adding Silver Covenant forces to the Alliance Second Siege of Ogrimmar, which means they can do what they want regardless of official Kirin Tor policies.

This isn’t a hard concept. The remaining high elves were some of the ones who outright ignored orders from Silvermoon. Do you really think they would care what Dalaran would have to say?

Valarian, stop teasing me :sob:

I am hanging on the edge of my seat for 9.1.5 for it to come live so I can show off my Alliance HE.

But did he help AGAINST the Alliance? No… this was research purposes, and through it all he kept mentioning that the Blood Elves should leave the Horde and just join the Kirin’tor.

We see an unmanned ballista and Vereesa. Blizzard did not add SIlver Covenant forces, as far as forces go. Is it now clear that the game alone is a very dubious source to use? If you can substantiate in game events with some out of game sources, you would stand much stronger.

In terms of The Sunreaver’s and The Silver Covenant’s allegiances, you can’t. Thus far they are primarily Kirin’tor faction, that favors each respective faction and will support the favored faction in neutral operation as decreed by the Kirin’tor.

I am still hoping they add a few of the Silver Covenant Hair styles, or maybe some Alliance Hair Styles.

Still possible imo. Even if they’re ported over from Nelves/Humans. But if it doesn’t happen in 9.1.5 i think it will happen in one of the next future updates. When it comes to the Void/High Elves though i think the next big “customization” of sorts will be a change to the visual effect of Entropic Embrace. Whether that be a whole new look or the ability to change it via a glyph or something similar.

EDIT: I think there’s still a strong possibily to see some MORE stuff though for 9.1.5. Apparently over on the EU forums there’s blues telling people to post more customization requests! Even regards to Void/High Elves.

Paladin most likely

  • Standard, and classic High elf uniform.

  • A more modern, Paladin High elf aesthetic.

  • My current favorite, High elf civilian look

  • Dalaran High elf Archmage

  • Another High elf Paladin look. I have most of this set, but it looks better on a male than a female in my opinion.

  • Another Dalaran High elf look, although I don’t like this one very much since the chest piece the NPCs use is converted into a tunic, where as the player only has access to the robe version.

  • Another Dalaran high elf mage look, also don’t like how players are forced to wear a robe while the NPCs get a tunic version.

  • And while most people prefer the Sundancer because it looks the closest to the Quel’dorei steed, I prefer the Cloudwing Hippogryph, since High elves prefer it as their flying mount.

I have more as well on my hunter c:

Ballista/Siege weapons in Warcraft usually are unmanned, that does not mean it does not belong to a certain faction classic.battle .net/war3/nightelf/units/glaivethrower.shtml

Blizzard has always considered both canon. Generally though books are “more” canon or more representive of lore then gameplay.

We know Wintergrasp is canon. The battleground are canon. And as shown by ingame representation the Silver Covenant/Sunreavers are heavily involved. We also know, the Sunreavers do not all follow “official” neutrality stances as shown by the fact the Divine Bell was stolen by one. The fact both factions are allowed on the streets of Dalaran mean their supporters are allowed in the city even if they fight outside of it.

Except we will usually see members of whichever race or group it belongs to present in some capacity, here however the Silver Covenant NPCs are completely absent, despite numerous flavor NPCs standing around representing each race.

If the intention were to give us the impression of the Silver Covenant’s presence, not adding a single NPC is certainly an odd way to go about it. It’s more likely that Vareesa brought it with her when she arrived to help Alleria. Without any NPCs, you have no proof that any Silver Covenant were present.
