lmao. that nostalgia will wear off any month now!
One thing I’ve noted about Classic is that it pays off to just take your time. The leveling experience is a big part of the game. This is something absent in retail. You get to max level so quickly and then get burned out on level cap content a lot faster.
If it took a lot longer to reach level cap in retail, but at the same time the leveling experience was fun and had satisfying content, it would be an improvement.
Getting to max level, then binging on level cap content day in and day out is going to lead to boredom and burnout. Unless you are in a guild that’s doing mythic raiding, high level mythic+ or focused on PVP, you don’t need to burnout so quickly.
Classic was introduced during the middle of an expansion at a time nothing much was going on really. Of course it drew attention.
BfA when it was first introduced drew more attention than Classic.
Actually it wouldn’t be an improvement because a lot of people in retail aren’t interested in that content. Blizzard already tried that long and boring method in 7.3.5. They are reverting that to faster leveling in Shadowlands again because obviously that long and boring wasn’t working.
Thing is everyone’s already aware of the issues. Everyone already knows where the game is going to go. Because if Blizzard tries to drastically drift away from that then people are going to get riled up and go on a ranting session with #NOCHANGES. If there are players who are turning up their nose and condemning certain roles because they don’t fit then they’re either trying to be realm first or are complete tater tots. Because you can walk in with almost anything and find success in Classic.
These tiny problems that you’re claiming will end up being massive issues are ones that are already known and acknowledged. Best case scenario, look at how they fixed warriors in PvP. They recognized that it was unfair for people to jump their charges and end up being out of range of their melee swings. So they fixed the issue.
This is a player issue. That honestly Blizzard shouldn’t step in and try to fix. Because if I’ve observed anything in Retail when they do this, it only causes more damage. Like if me and Timmy are playing with toys and he decides to start throwing them at other kids. Therefore the teacher comes and takes both of our toys. Why? I didn’t do anything wrong so why am I getting caught in the crossfire?
If people aren’t willing to let you play Ret, Feral or whatever, then it doesn’t sound like it’s a guild I would want to be a part of.
EDIT: Also fun fact. I’m actually leading a guild and when we managed to get our roster together we cleared the raid within 2 weeks and now have it on a 1 day farm. And everyone plays whatever they want.
The millions of people who’ve left retail over the years were interested in that type of content.
No, they didn’t. Nothing Blizzard has done in recent years has seriously resembled an older-WoW experience.
I love Ian.
I’m having fun, too!
People couldn’t stand the long and boring in 7.3.5, they sure the heck wouldn’t want the longer and more boring of classic.
There wasn’t millions of people who left retail over the years interested in classic, why do you think millions of people would want that content in the current game version.
uhhhh…?
A lot of people playing classic are people who were also playing retail.
I am not surprised you couldn’t think your way through that one.
patented BFA player denial
Only when statements that don’t make sense come up.
If memory recalls correctly, its been a few years. But a call to return back to classic started in Cata which already saw a large decrease in subs from the peak what was in WotLK.
Go ahead post your source for millions of players are playing classic that weren’t playing retail - both you and that other hunter are posting on 120 retail characters.
What was the sub increase during the month of Classic launch? How many millions was it? Now if they subbed during the month of Classic launch, they weren’t already subbed for retail now were they?
Didn’t soneone that works for blizz say on a live stream that subs doubled or something? Those people were obviously not playing retail or they would have already had a sub.
I don’t play classic but to say it hasn’t been a success is blatantly wrong.
That isn’t providing a source for that. Because you don’t know the numbers plus I imagine the sub numbers have also gone down because large numbers already quit classic.
WoW Classic drives a huge jump in subscribers. World of Warcraft subscription revenue grew an estimated 223% in August compared to July. Despite this, total revenue was still lower than the Battle for Azeroth expansion last August.

It’s ok to be wrong. I thought classic wouldn’t be a big deal after a coupe of months. I was wrong about that. That’s ok.
