But your definition of fun is not the same as everyone else’s. There are plenty of people having fun in Retail or Classic and some having fun in both.
Are you so pissed off about being so utterly wrong about classic that you stool to insulting people who enjoy it? I think that says more about you then anything else.
Classic and Retail are blatantly different games. Classic IS the leveling (for the most part) - it’s about a long, tedious, fun journey all around the world as you slowly grow from a peon into a legend. Retail is completely dismissive of leveling and is all about the endgame. The nature of the game being 15 years old and 7 expansions deep is that the journey/progression of classic simply CANNOT exist anymore - you start the expansion at the previous expansion’s max level. You’re already a god. There’s no wonder their focus has moved away from the journey of leveling and into the replayability of endgame. That’s what retail WoW is now - it’s the expansion’s setting, its systems, and its endgame. And I’m not saying that’s bad. But I think we need a collective recognition that Classic and Retail are completely different games with completely different design goals. Retail will never become what Classic is. The developers have no interest in making it so.
No it didnt when classic launched it shattered records on twitch.
Honor being introduced brought a lot more stuff to do at max level. All cities and settlements are under constant seige and encourage raid groups to stop the attacks. There is a lot more to do than leveling.
This is just a flat out lie.
Doubt it, but your word against mine.
LOL You’d have to remake the game to make BfA and beyond worth playing for me. Good luck getting that to happen.
Classic is actually an inferior product.
There is a lot of reinforced hype going on there and what people like mostly isn’t from the gameplay itself, but the community.
Because they want instant gratification and QOL improvements for everything in the game. One of the reasons the game has gone downhill.
Given that the design philosophy in classic was that the game was about the journey, not the destination (retail being the opposite), I think Pict’s conclusion is a fair one given the prolonged success classic is experiencing.
The problem with your position is that you are asking for a smoking gun. The best information we have comes from Blizzard themselves in this regard. The fact is, the month classic was introduced, subscriptions saw a 200%+ increase.
Now, you could argue it’s all just a big coincidence, and just because something was reported doesn’t make it true-- But you are at that point suggesting we accept a great many more assumptions than a simple, and apparent, “cause and effect.”
Well I wasn’t referring to twitch attention, I was referring to the number of people playing attention. Should have been clearer I guess.
If people were just playing for the leveling experience there would be no
you do realise prot pallies are the best dungeon tanks yeah? anybody would gladly take a prot pally to a 5 man
at least do some research before you pretend to know what youre talking about
Nostalgia is an insanely powerful thing for human beings.
yep, and generalizing literally every classic player like that totally isn’t toxic either
They’re not. There is more to it than that. That’s just one of the many things classic has to offer.
Yes I agree. However, some of these people arguing were so bound and determined to make the argument classic leveling should be the type of leveling retail has that they completely ignored common sense.
Hmm. Interesting, interesting indeed. But if yea read through everything you’ve seen what was discussed. But im guessing you’re probably that spodge whoever trying to keep a once civil discussion a flame war. So. Nope. Done. Enjoy.
You can’t debate people on their opinion. It gets no where. I’d take the removal of class homogenization over leveling changes any day.
