What benefit is there to playing warrior

As a warrior in PvE you have two options- Tank and dps

If I rerolled Paladin I could have a tank two tiers above myself, and a comparable dps (in a class that is also favoured by Blizzard buffs). Not only that, I could decide to heal as my OS with either of those former specs as my MS.

If I rerolled DK I would have a comparable tank with an S tier dps in the exact same roles as warrior.

Again, what is the point of playing warrior versus these two classes that eclipse it completely?

People need tanks, they’d prefer Paladin categorically. People need dps, they’d prefer DK categorically. Dps they’d probably prefer Paladins for utility. Tanking they would take a DK at the same rate as warrior.

At this point, playing warrior really is about loving playing the class more than anything else.

It’s definitely more challenging to get groups etc.

A lot of people just rerolled to those other classes to get spots. We’ve actually got one guy in my guild who we didn’t have a warrior spot for so he raids on his DK but he didn’t want to have his warrior with an “alt” rank so I left him at member. It looks like we may be bringing his warrior back soonish as he really wants that so I looked and he’s been keeping totally up to date with gear doing GDKPs etc every week so that he can get in whenever. I definitely respect it.

Well it apparently works. Don’t you have some S-tier raiding to do, overtuned paladin?

Also I’m leveling a Paladin. Warriors offer no utility and aren’t ahead on dps or tanking as a trade-off to that fact. Why the hell should the class be played at all

Edit: You also didn’t answer the question of the thread. Figures you’d just sidestep it.

I’ve had the parse argument before but it’s a flaccid argument I’m afraid.

If I was 95th percentile, my arguments would still hold water.

Except you’ve raided Ulduar an amazing 4 times and writ off the entire class. Warriors will get better by ICC, maybe not S tier but at least A tier at most.

Warrior is S tier tank for anything speed related. Best snap aggro and mobility of all Tanks.

There you go, a point of playing warrior.

So we get to tank for the past phases, got it. We’ll be speedrunning ToGC and Ulduar while Prot paladins are tanking the Lich King.

Glad you admit that warriors are sub-par when related to current content.

Nobody is speedrunning Ulduar. Let me clarify- nobody beyond 2% of raids are speedrunning Ulduar.

Oh so we dont take the top notch raiders into account ? Well then not even a problem existing here at all, because then warrior is absolutely fine.
Warrior is only bad in the minds of the meta slaves for the purposes you pointed out.
My guild clears algalon 25man with 3 dps warriors, and does 10 man algalon with 2 warrior tanks.

I dont see the problem of warriors here, outside of people thinking they need the “best” theoretical possible setup for everything, which is not necessary for anything outside of speedrunning.

100% wrong, warrior is bad top to bottom according to pretty much all raids. I’ll require again that you answer the question in the thread topic.

And why wouldn’t people think that? I’ve had one person suggest some utility that warriors provide, and it’s commanding shout.

Otherwise we’re B tanks, B dps and nothing else.

Delimicus: The day I listen to a paladin over how to do anything in PvE is the day I uninstall WoW. You’re Blizzard’s golden child and it shows.

I did. I pointed out a unique ability of warrior tanks.
I also pointed out that warriors are absolutely viable for every content in the game, even if they are not the best at it.
If you can argue against that, go ahead.

If you claim that people wont play outside of a “perfect” meta setup with every Tank, Heal and DPS being the best possible choice, show me an example of that outside of a week 1 tryhard worldfirst setup.

You can if you want, blood isn’t a dps spec and shows me how soft you brain has gone from the ease in which Paladins find groups.
