Yeah it’s funny that people are focusing on ele shamans for p2, and not that paladins are getting their full strength immunity bubble on top of all their new damage tools.
i believe they do.
the other points still stand though.
shaman got shafted and pallies got a golden grab bag of goodies .
every dps spec shaman has underperforms to a large large degree.
the only thing we can say is shaman heals are mid and the shaman tank is bis .
pallies are quite functional in all 3 roles along with all their goodies.
why we have ancestral guidance, such a bad filler rune , it’s so bad lol
Nothing. Shaman is the forgotten class. It’s cool and great under circumstances, but its just an average, forgotten class.
It’s not about what rune you use.
It’s about how often you are casting heals.
If you are actually casting heals, and not Wrath, then you will run out of mana and you don’t benefit from judgement at all.
If you are NOT casting heals at every opportunity, and instead casting Wrath, then you were never going to run out of mana in the first place. The extra regen is pointless.
They dropped the ball on shams. Only useable spec right now is tank.
If bosses keep dying this fast no one will care about mana tide.
There’s no reason to go ele either. It’s damage is awful. You do a third of a warriors damage.
A lot of times pally will tank with 2h so obviously there will be a disparity. I think the only fight our tank pally uses a shield on is the turtle, the rest of the time theyre basically dpsing.

People don’t like that the alliance got Windfurry since it stripped a unique aspect of Shamans that could encourage people to roll horde. Since now Druids on both factions give it.
It also ends up devalueing sham on horde because Druids will bring Windfurry too.
shamanistic rage. shams are endurance healers like how pallies eventually will be, except they are this way now. not that it matters since bfd is on farm even for most garbage pugs. it will likely matter later.
Enhance got the shaft, at 40 resto shaman will be the best healer in the game and it won’t be close.
I disagree. Sustain is a problem, true, but 1v1 WoE is very strong. Having Earth Shock on separate CD for interrupts and burst damage is also a great boon.
If you play smart you don’t need the sustain.
Against an even geared, even skilled pali you would be oom and dead.
I’ve had a mixed bag against pallies but generally positive. They’re pretty easy to kite, use a bandage when they pop bubble, etc.
If they have LoH off CD as well, definitely can’t deal with the 3rd healthbar.
I just want to highlight this for posterity’s sake.
Idk I had a lot of fun with it while leveling healing dungeons, it was amusing whenever I popped it to spam heal the tank from critical to 100% and massive chunks of the boss hp are simultaneously disappearing with each cast.
I’d love to see a few quality of life improvements to shaman;
- Have the ability to place all types of totems on 1 GCD instead of 4 individual ones, and make it so you can refund a % of the mana back to the shaman if you choose to return them.
- Be able to cast fire shock AFTER lava burst for 100% crit. ATM it’s so clunky and requires you to cast a lava burst at 20yd as that’s the distance for flame shock. Alternatively increase fire shock range to lava burst.
- Reduce cost of purge or make it purge 2 effects. ATM certain classes will make you OOM if they keep reapplying buffs because it’s more efficient than purge.
I think some nice brain storming between shaman fans could see some excellent QoL that the devs might read and implement.
Our purge already removes 2 buffs, we get it in Phase 2.
