My recollection of classic was shaman wanting to find any excuse to drop grace of air instead of windfury anyways. Like “oh the tank needs grace of air for more dodge, and also my windfury is covered by weapon imbues”
Yeah we would hate to be stuck in melee groups as enhance with battle shout and leader of the pack.
In Warcraft 3 Purge worked against paladins shield, it also rooted and slowed the target and dealt damage to summoned units. We need a rune that buffs purge.
It should absolutely defeat paladin’s bubbles. The root/snare is probably unnecessary since we have frost shock, and would probably be too much anyways given that it’s spammable. It should also work in PvE with the ability to break encounters the same way paladins can with shields. I can’t think of any off the top of my head, but if a boss has an immunity shield mechanic, this rune should allow purge to bypass it.

Ele will be strong at 40 but need a few changes:
Flame shock range increased to 30 yards, maybe 35. Put it with the lava burst rune for both so you don’t have this weird 20 yard dead zone required for a ranged class.
Lava Burst Rune also lets lava burst scale with talents that reduce cost , increase range, and damage with lightning bolt (NOT CAST TIME 2 sec cast is fine)

Enhance, huge help needed here since windfury is an imbue around equivalence to other imbues.
Stormbringer Mechanic: Storm Strike CD reset on special attacks, potentially reducing cost, and applies nature version of debuff of elements to fill a debuff slot. Otherwise SS is a dead skill. A free attack ever 20 seconds.
Sundering/Crashlightning: Some form of burst cleave or activated cleave mechanic to help the class with every class that already can do more single target and AoE damage than enhance currently. Scaling from Weapon Damage not SP since enhance does not do well with spellpower in a version of the game where spell crit and hit aren’t shared stats(outside of DW Rune)
Maelstrom Weapon: usable mechanic to make instant cast spells, since enh won’t have spell power maybe have the ability be x% more effective and faster per stack.
Likelihood of these rune being implemented likely low. If the delusional wrath andies push for spellhance prepare either a complete scuffed enhance that is so multi stat split you can’t find enough gear for it, or runes just better for ele.
Remember, your best totem is brought by a cat with a crit buff, and all of your totems are provided by resto shamans who have chain heal next phase. If your class is bad you won’t be brought or passed over.
Before the tank cope comes in, shamans are the second to last in dps as tank. But hey I love tanking. Top 3 speed runs I saw had any shamans pressing healing rain so the priest could run homunc.

The rune that Enhancement needs is to allow Wild Strikes/Windfury Totem to NOT be overridden by Windfury Imbue. Make it a rune and have it increase the chance Windfury Procs by 50% for their Imbue version.
This would be 100% vanilla like and would greatly increase Enhancement Shaman’s effectiveness in both PvP and PvE.
Vanilla Enhancement Shaman was known for Windfury and that is what they need to focus on. It is a clunky mechanic, but is 100% what made people love the Enhancement Spec in Classic WoW. SoD is about making specs viable and Enhancement only was viable in the first 2 phases of WotLK as they fell off before Mastery was introduced in Cata and other changes in MOP that allowed Enhancement to rise up to top DPS and Damage dealers before being nerfed in future expansions.
Make SoD OP for Shamans, they were terrible in Classic outside of Raid healing which they were pigeon holed into playing while Warriors pressed 1 button to top damage.

Heals a friendly target for 1003 to 1119 and another 1064 over 21 sec.
Let just do this: rune of op. Turns reincarnation into loh. Turns stone claw totem into 10 seconds of invulnerability while the shaman gets to operate normally. Cooldown = to pali bubble.
If anyone complains about this for shaman then why is it balanced when palis have it.
On a more serious note. Tune lava lash to 60% ap damage so weapon speed doesn’t matter and the ability hits hard, or 40% and it hits up to 3 targets.
Make Shamanistic rage provide 50% damage reduction.
As enhance dps is the only spec that needs love atm.
This is all shaman needs for dps.

Could change Sundering for:
Maelstrom Weapon: that adds % spell effectiveness per stack due to low spellpower on enhancement shamans and allows them to heal since they have no CC to shield their cast
crash lightning for activated cleave similar to rets, wars, and ferals(swipe?)
Start here then work up. Nothing in that post I mentioned would send shaman into the stratosphere and would help approach the mean dps while maintaining an identity around windfury stormstriking, and is compatible with 2 hand.
Windwalk totem - immunity to movement impairing effects and slows for party (pseudo party blessing of freedom)
“Rune of buff shocks”: earth shock has a small chance to stun (see blackout); frost shock roots the target added to slow; flame shock range increase as well as duration
Or we can also just have party wide bloodlust which alliance will cry about so
hopefully their ridiculous 30% stam, 10% DR, 6% crit immune rune is nerfed to restore balance in phase 2

its ridiculous power for one rune for any type of shaman, not just tank. completely negates defense on gear… negates the purpose of armor as a stat… its dumb

I have a feeling people will be basing their playstyle off of runes, rather than runes supplementing a spec. Which is what I woulda preferred
I agree this is a problem in pvp, in pve it’s kind of just … needed? But luckily no one with that rune can use windfury mainhand, so all of the general enhance that are brainless, so almost all enhance players, will run windfury mainhand and lose the most OP rune for pvp brawling.
That was a bug they removed forever ago.
The only reason why this rune is used relates to the lack of damage done as enhance. If you do the same damage with tank rune that you do as dps and have more survivability of coarse you’re going to run the tank rune. Unhitching es from the other shock spells is more damage per cooldown than lavatrash. The whole point of this thread is how trash enhance dps is.
