What’s the point of Classic if everyone plays Meta?

Almost every team I fought last night in 2s is Arms/Hpala, the only ones I found that didn’t play this comp were running some off meta combo getting farmed and there were a few outliers that were farming the meta comp.

I kinda feel like this is why TBC had lower Arena participation than even Shadowlands which was absolutely dead, Classic games are all figured out and people just spam meta and buy gold and GDKP PvE gear just to become even more OP due to poor item balancing.

I feel like Wrath is going to end up with a dead Arena season as well because most private server players that made this scene popular aren’t going to waste their time on Classic and the people who do play Classic will just spam the same comp until people either reroll or quit.

I haven’t ran into a single Arms/Hpal yet, sounds like a “you” problem

You know the arena forums are dead when the same no life troll posts in every single thread first, what happened to this place?

Shadowlands really took a toll on this PvP population.

Sorry I don’t speak blocked, I’ll come back when a non degenerate decides to comment.

But knowing the Arena forums this might be never.

because holy pally meta is best meta

I mean, theoretically, this happens in retail as well. Last season in 2s, almost every game was some variation of Holy Priest/X. During my Duelist push this season, a significant portion of the classes I played against are Disc or Rdruid/X. Meta chasing exists in all forms of WoW.

Since Dragon Flight pre-patch is out October 25th you’ll have until then before it starts getting dead.

Isn’t that particular prepatch only 2 weeks long? October 25th seems early.

Edit: Ok seems to be true. Man that’s early.

pretty sure it should be nov 15 if im not mistaken

Please tell me Dragonflight PvP is less grindy than Shadowlands and Wrath, the fact that people have to PvE for gear in PvP tilts me in Wrath and the fact that Shadowlands is so rating dependent on power also tilts me.

I’m hoping DF is far less grindy and easier to get into.

I mean, the whole point of classic is for people to do what they couldn’t back then, so naturally everybody reads the cheat sheet of what’s good then stocks up on gold for gdkps.

It’s just the safest thing to base assumptions around. There’s the leak, then the timeline fits.

We don’t know numbers, just that it’ll hopefully be one honor and one conq set. Participation should be super high, at least for s1, between the fixed gearing and shuffle.

Yeah I guess I don’t know what I expected, I should’ve known this was gonna be reality.

from what I’ve seen playing on beta it’s just pvp gear and crafted gear that u will probably want. You can probably just buy crafted gear off the ah for some amount of gold.

Dude that would be a blessing, I’m so tired of wanting to play WoW PvP only to be met with some insane grind.

Well atm Honor gear is 366-411 and Conquest gear is 392-421 and low end 80 crafted pvp gear is 343-395 (base) and 350-405 (rank 5) which is quite easy to make.

With no extra systems you could probs be 16 ilvls less then bis 2 hours into being 70.

Watched a bunch last night and main comps for 2s were arms/rsham and disc/sin.
Just funny how things never change lol

In wrath on the oceanic battlegroup (Not even a proper ladder) i vsd tsg all 10 games I could play.

This is making me want to pre purchase Dragonflight lmao

Yea they basically took the wrath system and added it to the WoD system then on top of that added solo shuffle. All the classes ive played have been really fun and it is looking to be a really good expansion they just have 1 SINGLE last thing they need to do and that is tuning properly.

Tuning decides how you play a spec and i really hope they look at wrath and see how certain things should be doing damage (like dots).
