What’s the point of Classic if everyone plays Meta?

Yea they basically took the wrath system and added it to the WoD system then on top of that added solo shuffle. All the classes ive played have been really fun and it is looking to be a really good expansion they just have 1 SINGLE last thing they need to do and that is tuning properly.

My only hang up was that in SL beta people said the same thing how fun it all was and then they slowly but surely snuck in different grinds without people noticing near the end of beta towards release.

I just hope they genuinely stay true to it.

The problems with shadowlands revolved around torghast and legendaries aswell as a honor system that came in a week before launch.

Currently we have talent trees that have been iterated for the last few months and a honor system that has kind of already showed itself entirely.

That’s good then, I just had a feeling like right before launch they they throw in something dumb like a Battle Pass like they did in OW2 or some other system.

Yea I’m not seeing the appeal of burning self out before dragonflight drops. I hit 77 and even then I feel exhausted. Snutz twitch was fun to watch last night farm people on rogue priest 2s but I’m tired to grind out last 2.5 levels.

Yeah i have beta and im not doing a single bit of leveling before live. I use it to check new features/abilities/talents and all that but that’s about it. I should keybind my stuff to try the pvp area

You have enough time to complain about wrath forums but didn’t know about the DF gearing system that was annouced like 7 months ago? Lol

A few things people don’t understand about Classic (especially Wrath now) is that things have already been figured out for the most part. You won’t randomly find off-meta comps emerging and beating “meta” comps - taking into account equal skill level - because of how people have already put thousands of hours worth of effort into determining what is ideal and what isn’t.

It probably won’t be dead in the long run as some may claim it to be, but it’ll certainly lose a fair amount of retention and interest like most classic versions of the game. People will still be playing just from the fact that they have access to both classic and retail from a sub and will likely invest more time into whichever version feels better for them. At the end of the day people have their own preferences as to which version is their cup of tea. DF prompting players to obtain newer game knowledge while Wrath focusing on older knowledge is the main difference I would assume. Which one has a steeper learning curve is totally dependent on the individual’s perception & experience imo.
