We've been utterly LIED to about Layering

You should send them a resume. I am certain they are desperate for you to tell them how to run their beta.

Share name reservations between the sub-servers. Problem solved.

The issue with layering is the ability to swap between them at will and that they share an economy. If it didn’t affect gameplay in that way, no one would care about it.

I have too much integrity to work for Blizzard.

If they were more eager to listen to their customers and their feedback, the game might not be as bad as it is these days, and maybe we wouldn’t really need Classic in the first place. At the very least, Classic might actually successfully provide what people are after.

I have no disillusions that Blizzard cares what I think. I’ve known for years that they don’t, or what any one of their customers thinks for that matter.

At this point, I’m just here to discuss it with other players and reminisce about when Blizzard was a good company.

How else are they going to test the tech?

It’s literally the testing phase. Guaranteed if there was 10 people there’d still be multiple layers.

Doesn’t really implicate anything for launch.

No, you’re just trolling.

To be fair, a lot of things they did put in the game over the years was because of fan feedback. They just didn’t account for how these changes effect the long term and that’s partially why we’re here today.

In your opinion, would adjusting to a new economy be worse then an exploited/damaged economy?

Well… I mean layering is a change, is it worse then having a first and last names?

Merging 2 economies will crash at least one of them.

While I agree Blizzard has made some mistakes, I read the forums every day. The last thing we need is the community designing the game. Good joke though.

How does merging two economies into one crash the other one? Aside the fact that its now 1 economy not 2?

So, if you disagree with someone they must be trolling? I’m obviously defending my argument.

Because the price of goods goes down since the supply suddenly doubles

I would think that with less than a week left in beta and only one stress test left they should be testing it in a way they say they mean to use it for launch to make sure it’s good to go without the numerous issues.

Not really, as demand will go up as well. But the differing price values will result in the less productive economy suddenly being a group of people unable to really afford anything, bringing their previous system to a screeching halt while the richer half scoops up their lower priced stuff and resells it to each other for immediate profit, leaving the others behind.

There’s a lot of changes personally wouldn’t care about and think wouldn’t have a big effect on gameplay. I’m just saying that advocating for any sort of change would not fly well here, regardless of what changes do still happen, like layering.

The best we can do is to make sure layering isn’t exploitable, or think of ways to minimize exploitation, and hold them to Blizzard that it’s gone before Phase 2. Ion’s words, not mine, since they don’t want multiple world bosses.

You haven’t really been arguing anything for a while now. You’ve just been having a condescending tone. The only things you were arguing near the early parts of the thread is that “I’m looking for the worst in this situation and anyone who disagrees is gullible, even if they’re stating exactly why something in Beta is doing a particular thing, with reasons why they’re doing a particular thing”.

you’re cringe.

This is like the 5th post today about this from random low level characters.

With little to no posts.

I am of the opinion you’re the same dude arguing withhimself trying to hit a hornets nest with a stick.

ahhh yes this makes sense i see

So you’re admitting that the economy would balance itself out, not crash?

I don’t remember anyone asking for most of the features that ended up ruining WoW, but I don’t have the data to back up my anecdotal evidence.

What I do remember is week after week, thread after thread, offering almost entire negative feedback for the various features that went totally unignored. It happens every expansion and every patch.

The community isn’t exclusively made up of the people on the forums, and the majority of feedback on the forums is reasonable. The occasional troll or moron doesn’t negate the millions of words of well thought out criticism or discussion that are exchanged here every week.

It’s more like they’d have to develop that, as last name doesn’t exist in WoW at all, and they won’t do it with a small team basing all their work on existing assets.

This is an even better point, since you’re right, we’ve never had last names in WoW.
