We're porting Retail add-ons to Beta, Come Get 'Em

That’s also contingent on what you’re doing and who the judge is, how much money you have to spend in order to rationalize things, and how good your team of lawyers are.

Because if you have a lot of money, corrupt yet extremely effective lawyers and a judge in your pocket, then you got your self some free software for re-distribution my friend.

Is there any mod out there that the party leader can initiate during the start of a dungeon that either counts up or counts down per boss and total run and can compare those time to a previous saved run. In real time in its own ui window. Itd be nice to get something at approximates m+

Downloading from Github can be a little complex as it generally adds the name of the branch onto the download. With different git set ups it can kinda a little complex depending on how complicated a programmers branch setup is.

You need to hunt down what is the actual addon folder following a general rule -

Your given wow client (whether Live , PTR or Classic beta) will only look 1 level deep within the addons folder for a .TOC file to load

EG if it sees AddonA\AddonA.toc it will load up AddonA in your addons folder. It won’t see AddonA-B\AddonA\AddonB\AddonB.toc

So when downloading from Github for TukUI -

Moving the Tukui-Classic folder won’t work - there’s no .TOC files inside that folder. Nor is there any inside the Tukui-Classic folder inside the Tukui-Classic folder.

You need to drag the TukUI and TukUI_Config folders inside -
Tukui-Classic\Tukui-Classic into the addons folder for Classic beta.

For Questie Dev -

It’ll unzip to QuestieDev-QuestieClassic\QuestieDev-QuestieClassic\

Could be an issue with this one as the folder name doesn’t match the TOC file but I’m not 100% sure if that’s a hard and fast rule plus I can’t test it as i don’t have a beta client installed also I’m at work.

Try dragging the 2nd QuestieDev-QuestieClassic folder in the addons folder for Classic Beta then open your classic beta client to see if it pops up in the addons menu.

If not try renaming it the folder from QuestieDev-QuestieClassic to Questie

Warcrafttavern seems to be hosting a version of clique for beta now if anyone still needs it:

mouseover macros with current BFA syntax works but fine in the beta, just have to add the ranks to the spells in the macros

SWEET!

:black_small_square:

Hi!

You’re absolutely amazing, but I have two more requests for you.

Quartz (which I’ve seen mentioned a few times)

And…I don’t know if people will hate me for requesting this one, but…

Opie.

It is my favorite addon of all time and with how many more abilities there are in classic, I’ll definitely want anything like mounts/consumables, etc on an Opie wheel. Or the ability as a mage to put all my teleports/portals on an opie wheel.

It’s the best addon ever.

Thanks so much for being awesome

MaxCam has been updated to 50 yards zoom distance, up from 39
https://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info24927-MaxCamClassic.html

You can also use this command instead

/console cameraDistanceMaxZoomFactor 4

Note that the cvar gets capped back to 2 every session, you will have to put it on a macro

A little automatic repairing QoL improvement for Classic Beta players from my man Cormeer. Enjoy.

You actually didn’t need this in Classic since you could queue as a premade.

Yeah, OQueue was for dungeons and raids (and elite outdoor quests) primarily.

Just finished a pretty big update to questie, had to rewrite all the old objective code, at this point it’s pretty much a total rewrite but that’s probably for the best. Main change in this update is now objectives are added to the map properly, it’s still not perfect though there are a few known issues:

  • the clustering code hasnt been ported yet, so some quests add too many points to the map
  • event type quests (explore the fargodeep mine) dont show because I didnt get a chance to test them yet, but thats next
  • quest finishers aren’t added yet but that will come with the event notes
  • mob/item tooltips arent working but the code for that is almost done
  • minimap isnt working either, something is up with HereBeDragons but im not sure what it is yet

If anyone finds anything not in that list please let me know (especially Lua errors, quests that aren’t actually available etc)

I appreciate not only that you’ve committed to making and possibly supporting a classic version of your addon along with the Live version but that you’ve been so upfront with the community on your updates including being accessible on Discord. Awesome work.

That said may I make 2 teensy tiny suggestions ? They’re minor cosmetic things and are neither bugs or feature requests. You are under no obligation to make these changes and it’s up to you if you think my suggestions are logical and something you want to enact.

  1. Rename your .toc file to QuestieDev-QuestieClassic.toc
Yes I know it makes your addon folder name look kludgy , primitive and just downright ugly. But it has a key advantage that people don’t need to rename the folder to match your TOC file in order for it to show up in the addons folder.
  2. In your .toc file add “(classic edition)” or “(classic only)” onto the end of the name of the addon in the Title. This distinguishs it from the Live version of your addon. Heaven forbid that someone (like me) trys to put it in their Live wow folder if they set right there in the addon list that it’s only for Classic they might stop trying to load it in Live.

I’ve tested both of these modifications and they seem to work fine in the Live 8.0 client. IE they show up in the addons list at the character select screen.

We definitely need to rename the .TOC file, I think we’ll do that while development is being done in that branch, but the master branch is actually for 1.12 and we have no intentions / ability to maintain that anymore, so it’s going to be merged into master once things get stable.

I really enjoy working on this stuff, so glad I got a chance to be a part of the beta and do this work now, instead of frantically at launch it’s a blessing

energy bar for feral/rogue with tic timer. Mana bar for druid in bear/cat.

I personally just put it in the addon description that shows up on hover instead of the title. It might be annoying if every addon has “Classic” appended in the addon list

## Title: MaxCam
## Notes: Max Zoom Distance for Classic

If a classic addon accidentally gets put into a live folder, it would just be marked as Incompatible and not load, if that is apparent enough to the user

I’d like to see Clique + Grid2, Pitbull, Dominoes. Bagnon, Postal.

Auctioneer maybe  ?

I can live without anything else addon wise.

Have any of the Rare Mob finder addons been updated?

Bartender would be cool.
