Wen summoning stones?

We should be stopping at every island to trade and restock the boat. #Truth. #Immersion

Some of these people really just want Retail disguised as Classic.
No commitment. No time sink. Just skip anything they deem inconvenient or unnecessary.
Why are they even here?

One of the best world designs was classic EverQuest. Not only there were boats, but you sailed through the ocean, and the boats would stop at islands.

No one complained and it made the world feel alive. Of course entitled players like you, Crudlord, and Figel won’t like it and that is why you guys aren’t true MMORPG players.

Again, its all about existing in a world. It’s not all about the action and loot.

I could. Honestly if they put summoning stones I will 100% camp every summoning stone I could so others couldn’t, and I would convince other people that agree with me that this is a righteous cause.

See then you get pvp.

Summoning stones would be part of this world too.

We don’t have to be. We just have to be true subscribers.

Yes because it was 40 years ago.

EQ currently has all the qol stuff, why didn’t you bring that up?

Hell planes of power was a city that had portals to literally everywhere in the world and that was arguably the BEST XPAC of eq.

Funny you failed to mention that, or maybe you weren’t counting on me knowing eq?

Doesn’t matter how much you degrade the game right, as long as you subscribe?

What matters more? A classic experience on the classic servers or changing the game so the people that don’t like it will subscribe?

a statement or event that contradicts expectations

example: complaining that summoning stones ruins experiencing the world when the entire point of summoning stones is to facilitate doing content detached from the world in the first place

That’s the difference between the playerbase of 20+ years ago and today’s. Today these zoomers only care about min/maxing and efficiency. Including every second they’re online and every step they take.

There is zero enthusiasm for rpg or immersion. It’s not a video game to these people. It’s serious business. Fun means absolutely nothing. It’s all about ‘getting through’ the content, logging off, and playing as little as possible. What a bizarre approach to a video game. The less you play, the better?

Oh I remember that, and I think Planes of Power was the worst thing to happen to EQ. This goes back to what I told Figel, just because an opinion is more popular doesn’t make it right. Planes of Power turned EverQuest from a world to just a list of “zones”.

There is a lot of truth to this. RPG and Immersion were never selling points of WoW to me.

This is not true. It is a game to me. Anyone who says I have to “work harder” at playing a game is doing it wrong. I just want to log in and have fun playing.

Fun is doing the content you want.

Not a 30m stroll thru a low level zone you already did.

You’re just old.

You’re in the minority here.

Just because you’re in the minority that doesn’t mean what you think is right is actually right.

POP was peak EQ.

This is like the 5th iteration of Classic WoW. Maybe more, I’ve lost count. It’s all content we’ve done. many. many times

That’s my point

and just how Wrath of the Lich King was “Peak WoW” right…

I am not the one making any statement. I am just standing by Blizzard’s decision and I want everything to stay the same. You are the ones who are making demands.

Exactly, if you don’t like repeating content, why on earth are you playing classic?

Summoning stones is an extremely radical change that was even too extreme for sod. Expecting it in these prestigious anniversary servers is completely unhinged!

Because there are other aspects of the game other than running from place to place.
